Leftists have declared all-out war against Ron DeSantis.
They are marshaling all of their resources against the Florida governor.
Now even a far-left sports writer wants to punish DeSantis with an insane plot.
Leftists did not learn their lesson from the fiasco regarding Georgia voting laws.
The Democrats whipped everyone up into a frenzy and told them that “Jim Crow 2.0” was on the horizon because Georgia removed some of the COVID emergency voting provisions.
The laws were still more lax than in states like Delaware, but the truth was immaterial.
The Democrats needed a narrative that the Republicans were evil and scary and were going to bring back poll taxes and poll tests.
Leftists encouraged Major League Baseball to move the all-star game from Atlanta to Denver – which ironically had stricter voter laws.
The virtue-signaling move cost Georgia business owners at least $100 million in lost revenue.
And the Democrats are doubling down on this stupidity.
Sports reporter Kevin Blackistone is now calling on the MLB to retaliate against Florida Governor Ron DeSantis by moving spring training out of the state.
Blackistone argued that MLB’s “15 franchises that started spring training last month in Florida should consider making the annual exercise an all-Cactus League [in Arizona] affair as long as DeSantis commands an attack on diversity. It has been the hallmark of his governorship, which many believe is a prologue to a presidential bid.”
Blackistone wants to punish local businesses in an attempt to hit back against the popular conservative governor who won reelection by 20 points.
It’s an incredibly dumb tactic.
“Just last month, DeSantis called a new Advanced Placement high school course in African American studies ‘indoctrination,’ dismissed its educational value and threatened to replace the nonprofit College Board that approved it,” Blackistone continued.
But DeSantis wasn’t the only person to oppose the “woke” course.
Democratic County Commissioner Bill Proctor, who has taught African American History at the collegiate level, explained, “I’m against the College Board’s curriculum. I think it’s trash. It’s not African American history. It is ideology. I’ve taught African American history, I’ve structured syllabuses for African American history. I am African American history. And talking about ‘queer’ and ‘feminism’ and all of that for the struggle for freedom and equality and justice has not been no tension with queerness and feminist thought at all.”
Blackistone also lied about the Parental Rights in Education bill, writing: “DeSantis signed into law the ‘don’t say gay’ bill, so nicknamed by critics, which prohibits public schools from any teaching on sexual orientation or gender identity unless they are considered ‘age appropriate or developmentally appropriate.’ Yet a league that started celebrating Pride Month several years ago is deeply rooted this time of year in Florida.”
But Blackistone left out the fact that the bill focused on grades K-3 – when there’s no reason for teachers to be discussing sexual orientation and gender identity with six-year-olds.
In fact, a majority of Democrats supported the bill.
The growing pile of hit-pieces aimed at DeSantis shows just how scared the Democrats really are of him.
