Hollywood is a breeding ground for toxic liberalism and Bill Maher has always been at the forefront of it.
But recently, he has been oddly unapologetic about his disdain towards certain sub-factions of the liberal party.
And now Hollywood’s biggest liberal, Bill Maher, just attacked the last group you’d ever expect.
Bill Maher was just dealt one of the most humiliating blows in his entire career recently when Freshman California Rep. Katie Porter demolished him on his own show, HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher.”
They were discussing the Hyde amendment, a law that bans federal funding for abortions. Former Vice President Joe Biden recently reversed his decision to support the Hyde amendment, which stirred the liberal base quite a bit.
Rep. Porter said, “Biden’s trying to make a political decision here. And failing still to recognize that this a personal decision. Even when he talked about it, he couldn’t quite get the word out.”
And then mocked Biden as if he was fumbling the words while announcing his change of position and capped it off with, “Look, I was a professor. Better late than never for the student who gets it on the last day of class.”
Porter immediately cracked, “Well, Bill, your mother made a choice and we all are living with the consequences of it.” Maher was stone-faced. The most surprising part being that Hollywood’s biggest self-proclaimed liberal has at least a little pro-life in him.
And he did it again on the most recent “Real Time” episode when he scolded “social justice warriors” at Ohio’s Oberlin College that was recently ordered to pay $44 million to resolve a libel dispute over a shoplifting incident at a local bakery.
Students and faculty at Oberlin College launched a boycott against Gibson’s bakery, crying racism because those suspected of shoplifting were African American teenagers.
The bakery took a huge financial hit due to the boycott.
But then a year later, those teen suspects pleaded guilty to the charges.
That’s why a jury found the university guilty of libel and resulted in the $44 million payout to the bakery’s owners. Justice was served.
The liberal host said, “Social justice warriors… are finally finding that maybe there’s a price to pay…”
Conservative commentator Charlie Sykes responded, “I’m tired of the term ‘political correctness’. It’s like ‘performative wokeness.’ In our mono-culture, we have to find a way to humiliate, to drive people out that we disagree with, and I will tell you that there’s a huge backlash. … The folks on the right were bailing on liberalism. … They’re basically saying that, ‘The Left wants to destroy you, they hate you, they want to take away your rights, they want to destroy your business.’ Unfortunately, you have anecdotes like this that make it that plausible.”
Maher asked, “How do we get mainstream liberals to stand up that faction?”
There’s no question this “wokeness” is an epidemic and a strong overreaction to anecdotal viral videos sweeping the nation every week or so where white police officers harass African Americans.
Liberals love to jump-to-conclusions to defend minority cultures as if they’re spokespeople on behalf of them.
It happened earlier this year when actor Jussie Smollett allegedly lied about being jumped on the streets of downtown Chicago claiming two President Trump supporters wore the red hats and screamed “MAGA!”
Hollywood liberals defended Smollett and demonized Trump supporters before all the facts came in.
Look how that worked out for them. They were wrong just like Oberlin College’s students and faculty.
