The left has cast Donald Trump as the new great villain of history.
Anything associated with him must be destroyed.
Now leftists are attacking the board game Monopoly for an insane reason.
The Democrats and their media allies don’t even hide their hatred for capitalism.
Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez proudly claims she’s a Democratic Socialist, and she is not at all alone on the left.
That’s why they hate Donald Trump so much.
He’s a rich businessman who wears a suit, lives in big houses, and owns a lot of properties.
Now, just like Trump, the wildly popular board game Monopoly is under assault by the left.
Coincidentally, both Trump and Monopoly got their start in Atlantic City.
And when people and businesses become too successful, they become targets of leftists.
Now PBS has put out a documentary called Ruthless: Monopoly’s Secret History.
The documentary goes through the history of the game, which was supposedly stolen from a socialist in the early 20th century.
But the main thrust of the documentary is that capitalism is bad.
Game designer Ashlyn Sparrow said in the movie, “Monopoly makes it easy to imagine that you can, you know, accomplish your goals, accomplish your vision, you can start a business, and you don’t have to think about what you look like, where you come from, that you’re from a different class, from a different race, have a different gender, have a different gender expression. You don’t have to think about any of that at all, right? And that is the problem and the myth that Monopoly continues to just push forward.”
“Woke” leftists don’t know anything about their small bubble.
Many people start businesses in America without even learning English.
Millions risk death coming to America for free markets, and property rights, which are not the norm around the world.
Sadly, free markets and property rights are slowly being eroded by the radical leftists.
Yeonmi Park, a young woman who escaped from North Korea and came to America, was aghast at what she saw while attending Columbia University.
Park said, “I expected that I was paying this fortune, all this time and energy, to learn how to think. But they are forcing you to think the way they want you to think…I realized, wow, this is insane. I thought America was different but I saw so many similarities to what I saw in North Korea that I started worrying.”
Only American academics could destroy the system that has created so much prosperity.
Gaming scholar Lindsay Grace added, “It is a zero-sum game, and so the kind of rhetoric there is that there can be only one victor. And I think that’s an interesting metaphor of the way that our capitalist system works in the United States.”
But that is not the case.
There is not only one winner in American capitalism.
People from socialist countries come to America and are blown away by various kinds of the same products they can buy at the grocery store, e.g. there are multiple brands of toothpaste, ketchup, deodorant, and on and on.
On top of that, America’s capitalist system raises the standard of living for everyone.
Even poor people in America are middle class by world standards.
