A tumultuous NFL season is finally over.
The year was marred by many controversies, including one at the Super Bowl.
But Donald Trump sounded the alarm on one underreported problem during Super Bowl festivities.
The New England Patriots are NFL champions after a surprisingly uneventful game in the lowest scoring Super Bowl in league history.
Head coach Bill Belichick and Tom Brady won their sixth Super Bowl in nine tries as a tandem.
But the game itself wasn’t the only issue at hand.
The Super Bowl represented an ongoing culture war that has plagued the NFL since 2016 when free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick started the anti-American anthem protests.
The protest controversy reached a fever pitch in 2017 during Trump’s first year in office but has since died down.
Only a handful of players continue to kneel.
That didn’t stop activists from turning the NFL into a wedge issue.
However, Maroon 5, Travis Scott, and Big Boi didn’t include any overtly political messaging in their performance, much to the consternation of the militant leftists.
But the Super Bowl was the epicenter for another political battle: illegal immigration.
Trump largely won in 2016 on the issues of illegal immigration and border security.
The Democrats once believed in protecting the border, but have since become the party of open borders.
Recently a large migrant caravan — funded by socialist governments and left-wing agitators —traveled from Central America to the United States and inundated customs agents with largely bogus asylum claims and unlawful entry attempts.
Democrats tried to downplay the crisis as an isolated event, but yet another migrant caravan is traveling through Mexico toward the southern border.
Caravans will continue to come until the United States gets serious about border security, starting with a barrier that acts as a deterrent.
Trump understands this reality, but Democrats refuse to acknowledge this fact.
And now the consequences have spilled over into Super Bowl activities.
Human traffickers brought young women to Atlanta for the purposes of prostitution.
Trump said, “It’s a big movement now because of the Super Bowl, if you can believe this.”
The inaction of the Democrats and a compliant mainstream media act as a magnet for smugglers looking to exploit the vulnerable.
Trump continued, “They are bringing in a lot of women through the southern border for the Super Bowl.”
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen also spoke about the issue:
“Some of the victims that we have saved, unfortunately, include underage children that had been brought in for the purposes of being sold and abused as part of Super Bowl activities.”
Nielsen said over 40 arrests were made due to human trafficking.
But the Democrats are willing to turn a blind eye to such rampant illegality because they want to keep the flow of future Democratic voters pouring into the country.
Democrats claim to be for women, yet their actions say otherwise and embolden the unscrupulous human traffickers who exploit them.
