Christians are under attack.
The left has never been more hostile to religious people in this country.
But Hollywood superstar Chris Pratt just made all Christians smile.
Anti-Christian Push
Leftism is a secular religion.
Followers believe the state is God.
Leftism is also not pluralistic.
That’s why far-left governments always push out religion when they gain power.
Some of the first people sent to the gulags in the USSR were clergy.
This anti-religion strain still exists today.
But America was founded on Judeo-Christian values.
So it’s been more difficult for the left in this country to attack religion.
But they still attack relentlessly.
There are activist groups dedicated to stamping out religious practice.
A group in Georgia banned a football coach from praying with his team before and after games.
The coach prayed nonetheless, and his team voluntarily chose to join in.
Godless Hollywood
The entertainment industry is an area of American life that really fights against religion.
In Hollywood, the anti-Christian feeling is strong.
Despite box office success, Christian-themed films get almost zero marketing and press coverage.
Most of the taste masters in the industry are not religious at all.
In fact, many are openly hostile toward religion.
Many believe all Christians are freaks who deny science and hate gay people.
These characterizations are misguided.
It’s ironic that the left hates stereotyping.
But has no problem doing it to Christians.
It’s easy to find a film that includes some bigoted preacher who perverts religion.
In spite of this pushback, there are still some prominent Christians in the business.
Probably the most famous is superstar actor Chris Pratt.
Pratt made a name for himself on the NBC hit show “Parks & Recreations.”
But soon he moved into superstardom as the lead in two huge franchises: “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Jurassic World.”
Pratt is grateful for his success, and sincerely thanks God.
He first made waves by praising God at the MTV Movie Awards to rousing cheers.
Despite some backlash, he continues to be an outspoken Christian.
Pratt spoke about the comments with the Associated Press. He said, “That kind of a message, it might not be for everybody. But there is a group of people for whom that message is designed.”
Pratt’s speech gave people a chance to think about their faith.
He continued, “ And nothing fills my soul more than to think that maybe some kid watching that would say, ‘Hey, I’ve been thinking about that. I’ve been thinking about praying. Let me try that out.”
More and more kids have a negative view of religion without truly understanding it.
Pratt also said, “That’s like the only way I feel like I can repay what has essentially been a giant gift in my life.”
Pratt is known for his generosity.
He truly wants to pay it forward.
Fight For Religious Freedom
The biggest battle Christians face right now is the fight for religious freedom.
The left wants the government to be able to force people to violate their beliefs.
Probably the most notable case involved Christian baker Jack Phillips in Colorado.
Phillips sells cakes to everyone, but does not make custom cakes for gay weddings because of his religion.
The left even went so far as to compare Phillips to racist segregationists.
Phillips won a short-lived battle in the Supreme Court.
But the left is relentless.
They’ve already targeted him again for destruction.
