Nike is in big trouble.
The shoe giant hired anti-American anthem protester Colin Kaepernick to be the face of an ad campaign.
But one gold star mom let the company know how she felt about its terrible decision.
Endless Protests
Colin Kaepernick created a mess.
The free agent quarterback’s conversion to radical leftism spilled over into the NFL.
He knelt for the anthem and disrespected the country.
The mainstream media and leftist groups praised him for his bravery.
Some labeled him a civil rights hero.
Others said he would be remembered with Muhammad Ali and Rosa Parks.
But his entire protest was built on a lie.
He claimed he was protesting police brutality against black people.
But studies show there is no widespread issue of police use of deadly force against black suspects.
Analysis from Harvard economist Roland Fryer showed that cops were actually more likely to draw their weapons against white suspects.
That didn’t matter to Kaepernick and the left.
The narrative was more important than the truth.
The protests spread throughout the league.
Kaepernick’s decline in ability and potential as a distraction kept him out of a job.
But he believed the league colluded against him despite zero evidence.
Because of this “sacrifice,” Nike rewarded him with a multi-million dollar advertising deal.
Gold Star Mom
Many people hated Nike’s decision to feature Kaepernick.
Some destroyed their Nike gear.
Some organizations cut ties with the company.
Conservative actor James Woods even divested his portfolio of Nike stock.
All of this caused a drop in Nike’s appeal.
But perhaps the most upset were families of people who have sacrificed everything.
Trina Hart—mother of Marine Ty Hart, who died in a helicopter crash during a mission —blasted Nike for the ad.
Hart said, “Everything is your life…My son sacrificed his life.
Those other 11 men the night my son died sacrificed their lives.”
Hart’s son and his fellow Marines died serving their country.
They protect the freedoms Kaepernick takes for granted.
Hart continued, “I’m sorry, I don’t find any ‘sacrificing everything’ in what Colin Kaepernick did.”
Leftists believe patriotism means hating America.
In their eyes, there’s nothing more honorable than protesting this country.
Attack On Soldiers
Hart believes Nike needs to repair the damage they’ve done.
She concluded, “They need to fix what they did…They owe America an apology. They owe Gold Star families an apology.”
Hart is correct.
But nobody on the left will say it.
The military makes liberals uncomfortable. They get queasy at the thought of patriotism.
They pay lip service to the troops but always complain about military spending.
The defense budget makes up less than 15% of GDP.
Bernie Sanders even tried to block fixes to the VA because they went against his big government agenda.
These are the people praising Nike for their ad.
Colin Kaepernick takes a knee and trashes the country. He makes millions.
Servicemen lose their lives. And their families have to watch Kaepernick receive a hero’s welcome.
Nike’s decision is shameful.
If the early signs are true, they will pay dearly for their political choice.
