Celebrities are notorious for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time, but occasionally they say something so uncensored and candidly that liberals lose their collective minds.
It usually happens when a celebrity might actually feel a certain way and then they flub it, forcing them to apologize about how “tone-deaf” they were, like what comedian Roseanne Barr did with a late-night tweet that ruined her career.
And Marvel actress Scarlett Johansson did just that when she said something about the characters she wants to play, and not only did it bring out the liberal pitchfork mob, but the “Avengers: Endgame” actress also had to clarify her comments.
They call it “whitewashing” in Hollywood. It’s a term where Hollywood casts an A-list star – always being a Caucasian actor – even though the character is of a different racial descent.
One of the most famous recent examples was when Emma Stone played a quarter Hawaiian and a quarter Chinese, even though Stonescare’s heritage isn’t even remotely close to that. She’s a star and stars add value. It’s not that complicated.
Another recent example is Scarlett Johansson playing the heroine in “Ghost in the Shell,” which was a live-action film adaptation of the most successful Japanese anime property ever.
People wondered why it wasn’t a Japanese actor in that role but the reality is Hollywood wants to mitigate risk as much as possible and casting a Japanese actor in a Hollywood production designed for American audiences is a dangerous gamble.
Johansson faced a ton of backlash for that role but it wasn’t nearly as bad as last year when the 34-year-old actress was berated for taking on a transgender role in a movie called “Rub & Tug.” It didn’t take her long to back out of the role altogether.
The “Avengers” actress released a statement that said, “In light of recent ethical questions raised surrounding my casting as Dante Tex Gill, I have decided to respectfully withdraw my participation in the project.”
But in a new interview with The Daily Mail over the weekend, Johansson wasn’t having the criticism anymore and that’s what sent liberals through the roof.
She said, “You know, as an actor I should be allowed to play any person, or any tree, or any animal because that is my job and the requirements of my job. I feel like it’s a trend in my business and it needs to happen for various social reasons, yet there are times it does get uncomfortable when it affects the art because I feel art should be free of restrictions.”
Of course, liberals were furious with Johansson because of the whole social justice warrior disposition a lot of them have like “Okay, go ahead and be a tree if you want to play a character.”
This person said that:
Yes, ScarJo, you should be able to play a tree. Because there aren’t countless sentient trees desiring to act yet struggling to get cast in roles. But there ARE ton of LGBTQIA l/non binary actors who have vocalized that they would love to represent those characters.

Another response was this:
White privilege working hard I see.

And another:
This is peak entitlement lol. Unapologetically being ignorant to the lack of roles for people of color but woman of color in particular. pic.twitter.com/VH9JzhC7fr

But of course she had to clarify when Johansson said, “I recognize that in reality, there is a wide spread discrepancy amongst my industry that favors Caucasian, cis gendered actors and that not every actor has been given the same opportunities that I have been privileged to. I continue to support, and always have, diversity in every industry and will continue to fight for projects where everyone is included.”
She’s also one of the highest paid actresses in the world and any production would be lucky to have her even if she played a tree. Actually, that would be funny if she did play a tree.
