You would be hard-pressed to find anybody in Hollywood who would be remotely critical of the Democratic Party.
There are some conservative actors like Tim Allen and James Woods who have been longtime Republicans who will speak out against liberals when deemed necessary. Unfortunately, Woods’ career has faltered because of it, but Allen still has a hit Fox show and still plays Buzz Lightyear in the “Toy Story” franchise.
But this Marvel actress surprisingly blasted the Democratic Party with this comment.
Everybody knows that Hollywood emphatically leans left in the political arena, which is why they consistently demonize the current administration.
They actually did it to George Bush Jr.’s administration too when they released “Vice” last year – a semi-biographical tale about former Vice President Dick Cheney, which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture.
It’s just what Hollywood does. They go out of the their way to demonize Republicans and those that support the political party.
But they are fully aware how rich, famous and powerful they are.
That’s why it was a startling surprise when Marvel actress who plays Black Widow, Scarlett Johansson, criticized the Democratic Party to the point where she wanted to run for office herself.
That was the first time she criticized the Democratic Party.
But during her press junket for “Avengers: Endgame” Johansson admitted that she didn’t know if former Vice President Joe Biden had a chance after his alleged inappropriate touching became nationally newsworthy.
Journalist Marc Malkin asked her point blank if she thought Biden had a shot and her response was, “I don’t know [if he] has a shot after everything that’s happened.”
There are dozens of pictures and video footage of Biden invading the personal space of females. They became viral after Lucy Flores accused him of inappropriately touching her.
Lucy Flores was preparing to give one of her final stump speeches in a race for lieutenant governor in Nevada when she felt two hands on her shoulders. She froze and wondered, “Why is the vice-president of the United States touching me?”
Flores wrote, “Biden was the second-most powerful man in the country and, arguably, one of the most powerful men in the world. He was there to promote me as the right person for the lieutenant governor job. Instead, he made me feel uneasy, gross, and confused.”
And it’s important to note Biden was the leading Democratic nominee in literally every poll before he even announced his candidacy.
But Johansson also lamented that there isn’t a clear cut candidate yet.
She pondered to Malkin, “Although now is certainly the time to back someone. I think I have to do a little soul searching. I think the Democratic Party is broken in a lot of ways and just damaged from these past several years. For me, if there was one candidate that I felt we could all unite behind, certainly that would be the candidate that I would back.”
Maybe she’s been too busy promoting “Avengers: Endgame” but the Democratic field now has 20 potentials running for the nomination.
Is that not enough?
And they range from socialists like Bernie Sanders to the complete opposite of the Democratic candidates like Biden.
Nevertheless, Johansson isn’t buying what the Democratic Party is selling.
