As they say, “there are days and then there are days.” That expression is like someone saying can things get any worse?
In the movie industry, apparently, that expression is a dime-a-dozen comes quite too often and you see the same things over-and-over again quite frequently. But sometimes that comes at a cost of overcompensation where your beloved art content wants to switch things up for the sake of “switching things up.”
And these people are furious over Marvel’s latest controversy over a casting choice they made for a superhero.
Oh God, we are going through this nonsense again where there’s an overcompensation of finally replacing Caucasians in entertainment, aren’t we?
People are sick of white people; so why keep giving them parts!
Look, nobody cares about any of this and the only people who seem to be making a deal about it are those powerful people in Hollywood who are directly going out of their way so that straight white males don’t appear in their projects. Great. Nobody really cares if you want to have a self-righteous woe-is-me take on your project.
If you think that rings false; it’s not the case.
But also; who cares?
Are you really that concerned about how Hollywood casts their parts? It’s kind of a conundrum. The same people who seem angry are the same who boycott it in general, so what does it really matter?
But people are super angry about the fact that Marvel cast Natalie Portman as the new “Female Thor.”
One user said, “Give me a f’m break…I’m a Natalie Portman fan but Thor is a male character… When do we get a male Wonder Women? Democrat PC will wreck the world. Stand up and say NO.”
First of all, this is wrong. She’s not taking over Chris Hemsworth’s spot as Thor; she’s going to become a female Thor, which has been well-documented.
Moving on.
Endgame SUCKED, This will SUCK. the female IronMAN will SUCK. Marvel has shot itself in the foot being all liberalcorrect. I didn’t even bother with the meeto marvel movie. Fuck all that crap ⚡️ “Natalie Portman will portray the first-ever female Thor”https://t.co/8r8u2VV6Zv

Look, all of these have this character confused. She’s not TAKING OVER for Thor. She’s her own female Thor character.
Now, does that seem a little absurd that Thor’s ex-girlfriend whose last appearance in “Thor” nearly a decade ago and only made a two-second appearance in “Avenger: Endgame” should be “entitled” to the right to play a superhero.
Well, that’s a whole other thing.
Probably the best comment was when a random Twitterer said, “I hope Taika Waititi is a miracle worker, because Jane Foster Thor is a terrible idea, and Natalie Portman is the worst part of two bad Thor movies.”
To be fair, Waititi helmed “Thor: Ragnarok,” which was arguably the best installment of the whole franchise and his sensibilities seem to say he will do “Thor: Love and Thunder” justice, because he’s that unique of a mind. Watch Waititi’s older work if you suspect it.
