Netflix’s meteoric rise is unprecedented.
For about three hours, a week ago, Netflix passed Disney’s market value to become the most valuable media company in the world.
But the streaming giant’s stock just plummeted because of former President Barack Obama.
On May 21st, Netflix announced a major production deal with Barack and Michelle Obama.
Under the Obama’s newly found production company, “Higher Ground Productions,” they are contracted by Netflix to produce a slate of scripted and unscripted series, features, documentaries and docu-series.
The Obamas and Netflix both claimed this wouldn’t have a political focus and stick to the “power of storytelling.”
Even Netflix’s President, Ted Sarandos, urged the public that this new deal does not make it the “Obama Network.”
But that’s a lie.
The slate of projects coming from the Obamas is scheduled to touch on hot button political issues such as so-called “Global Warming” and immigration.
Their projects will push Obama’s liberal agenda and undermine President Trump’s policies.
Liberals have manipulated Hollywood to promote Obama’s agenda.
In 2013, the California Endowment donated $500,000 to the USC Annenberg Norman Lear Center’s Hollywood Health and Society program in order to promote Obamacare during that fall’s network TV season.
Now Obama is cutting out the middle man and taking control of the programming himself.
Sarandos tried to downplay the political implications of the Obama deal to stave off critics who accused Netflix of becoming the propaganda arm of the Democrat Party.
That didn’t work.
Many Republicans were outraged over this deal because Netflix largely produces liberal content and this solidified their leftist bias.
Polling data that was obtained by Hollywood’s premiere newspaper, Variety revealed their reputation has plummeted.
YouGov – a survey research firm – concluded that Netflix’s favorable rating amongst Republicans fell by 16-percent in 2018.
The general perception scale dictated that Netflix scored a 62.8-percent for Democrats and a measly 41.8-percent for Republicans, which was concluded about two weeks after the Obama production deal announcement.
That also means that many of those Republican numbers would certainly dip below that because most of those favorable ratings were likely polled before the announcement.
So did Sarandos try to save the reputation of Netflix by saying they are not becoming “The Obama Network?” Of course they did.
Even the Obama’s statement post-announcement seems eerily fake and empty.
“We hope to cultivate and curate the talented, inspiring, creative voices who are able to promote greater empathy and understanding between peoples, and help them share their stories with the entire world,”Barack Obama said in a statement.
And Michelle added, “Netflix’s unparalleled service is a natural fit for the kinds of stories we want to share, and we look forward to starting this exciting new partnership,”
Do you know what this means?
Netflix is playing right into their deceiving hands.
Maybe Sarandos is delusional when he claims the network won’t become “The Obama Network,” but maybe he really is in the dark about the Obama’s intentions.
Don’t you think that the Obamas are playing Netflix to spread liberal indoctrination worldwide?
That’s why many Republicans are seeing right through this crap and advocating for boycotts on Twitter.
Think about it. It’s kind of the perfect plan. Netflix announces that their content won’t get political so they can play the plausible deniability card.
Thankfully, most people aren’t buying it.
