Barack Obama did serious damage to the country during his eight years in office.
Fortunately for America, Donald Trump is slowly dismantling the Obama doctrine of big government, unconstitutional executive action, and dangerous foreign policy.
However, one move Trump just made to unravel Obama’s legacy will really stick in his craw.
Barack Obama just can’t seem to help himself. Instead of riding off into the sunset like most presidents, Obama has stayed in the public eye by tweeting against actions undertaken by President Trump, and he just cut a lucrative content deal with Netflix.
Since he can’t preside over the American people anymore, Obama has decided to pump propaganda into their heads through the preeminent streaming service.
Ironically, as Obama inked a content deal with Netflix, a successful content creator who’s been one of his staunchest critics just received a pardon from Trump.
Conservative writer and commentator Dinesh D’Souza was granted a pardon by Trump after pleading guilty to a violation of campaign finance laws.
D’Souza openly admits to his crime—he contributed $20,000 over the allowable limit of $5,000 to a college friend’s senate campaign—but rightly pointed out his prosecution was a political hitjob.
D’Souza was sentenced to eight months of weekend confinement in a detention center for felons (including convicted murderers) nearing parole, and five years of probation.
Prior to D’Souza, nobody who’d ever committed such a trivial campaign finance violation had been prosecuted with such vigor; most perpetrators receive a fine if they’re even prosecuted at all.
However, D’Souza was a vocal Obama critic who needed to be silenced. D’Souza made his foray into documentary filmmaking with the searing “2016: Obama’s America.”
The film became the second-highest grossing documentary of all time, only behind Michael Moore’s fantastical “Fahrenheit: 9/11.”
As Obama did in the Lois Lerner IRS scandal that targeted conservative organizations, and his pursuit of whistleblowing journalists, he weaponized his office against an opponent.
He had to make an example of D’Souza for having the audacity to attack him. D’Souza dug deep and visited Obama’s brother in Kenya, who was living in abject poverty despite his brother being the most powerful man in the world.
U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara prosecuted him to the fullest extent of the law in hopes of currying favor with Obama.
In an amusing twist of fate, Bharara was fired after the Obama-to-Hillary succession plan was thwarted, and D’Souza was pardoned.
D’Souza has continued to make successful documentaries that unapologetically attack the deceitful left, and has said he plans to break into narrative filmmaking.
It’s amazing how the left attacks Trump for being a tyrant even though he’s scaled back the power of the executive branch, and shown restraint Obama didn’t exhibit in going after his enemies.
Obama imprisoned dozens of journalists. Trump has jailed none.
Obama sicced the IRS on conservative 501(c)3’s and targeted D’Souza for a relatively petty campaign finance violation.
Meanwhile, Trump hasn’t taken any action against public nemesis Rosie O’Donnell, who flouted campaign finance law by over-contributing to several Democratic congressional candidates.
