CNN has been on a tear lately with their absurd accusations. Recently, a political “analyst” told Anderson Cooper that the Manchester bombing (and others) could have been a right-wing conspiracy for conservatives plants to make it seem like Muslim terrorists were responsible. Yes, you read that right.
South Carolina’s Trey Gowdy is an honorable Congressman who has always protected America’s interests, and especially so when he became the Chairman of the House Select Committee to investigate Hillary Clinton’s role in the 2012 Benghazi attack.
Trey Gowdy was hilariously nicknamed “The Hillary Slayer” by Rolling Stone magazine, and a counter-terrorism “expert” was recently beside himself when whining about his hatred towards the Congressman.
Breitbart reports:
On Wednesday’s broadcast of CNN’s ‘New Day,’ CNN Counterterrorism Analyst and former CIA counterterrorism official Phil Mudd stated that Representative Trey Gowdy (R-SC) ‘ought to have his ass kicked.’
After seeing a clip of an exchange between Gowdy and former CIA Director John Brennan over the existence of evidence showing a connection between the Trump campaign and Russia, Mudd said, “Trey Gowdy ought to have his ass kicked.”
“He knows the difference between intelligence and evidence. Let me tell you something, Alisyn, if you’re an American citizen, and the National Security Agency collects intelligence, that is intercepts of Russians, who report what you’ve said, do you think it’s fair to go to a court and say that’s evidence that you did something wrong?
That’s why the FBI is going to a year or more to investigate this, because the American citizens involved in this have a right to have evidence presented in a court beyond a conversation that a Russian official reports.
In my world, this distinction is black and white. It is a hard line. I know it’s frustrating for the American people.
But I hope they don’t want evidence to be perceived as something that a Russian official says, and that’s it, you can be convicted on that. It’s not.”
Allen West hilariously summed it up.
I’d like to see him try! https://t.co/ProE7yVRD8

Gowdy is about to take a bigger role with Rep. Jason Chaffetz about to exit Congress, taking over his role in the House Oversight Committee. Most of his peers feel he’s the right person for the job.
Roll Call Politics reports:
[Rep. Jim] Jordan, a founder of the House Freedom Caucus, said his and his group’s conflicts with leadership would likely sink any chance he had.
The Steering Committee, dominated as it is by leadership and its surrogates, Jordan said, is “just not the most favorable audience for me.” Jordan thinks Gowdy is the frontrunner.
“Trey’s probably going to be the guy,” he said. “Trey’s a good guy.”
Republican California Rep. Darrell Issa, a former chairman of the committee who can technically take the gavel again, also predicted Gowdy would prevail.
“I would assume as we look down the dais that he would be on everyone’s short list,” Issa said.
So his peers who he works closely with on virtually a daily basis believe Gowdy to be a good guy, while the anti-Trump liberal media want to “kick his ass.” Gee, I wonder who could be right in this situation.
