NASCAR is one of the last sports left in America that is not filled with a bunch of spoiled whiney multimillionaire athletes.
Well, you can probably add the National Hockey League to that list too because they may be the toughest athletes the United States has to offer right now. Most people would put a hockey player against an NBA or NFL player any day of the week.
NASCAR was one of the most conservative friendly sports to watch until recently when they just made a massive move that will have gun owners furious.
After every single mass shooting tragedy, liberals reignite the gun control debate pleading for a reform of our precious Second Amendment rights, which guarantees our safety and right to defend ourselves against a tyrannical government.
All liberals do is shame those who own guns and ignore the fact those shooters are severally mentally ill. That’s a problem we should be focusing on rather than taking guns away from responsible owners.
So far shaming has worked to some degree.
Following the Parkland High School massacre on Valentine’s Day two years ago, Dick’s Sporting Goods announced they would no longer sell guns in their stores.
Just recently, after the El Paso shooting that occurred in a Walmart, the company decided to ask its customers to stop carrying guns into their stores.
Doug McMillion, Walmart’s CEO, then said in a memo to employees that the company was “respectfully requesting” that customers stop openly carrying firearms into its stores. The good news is that it’s a request, rather than a threat to ban those who conceal carry.
Now you can add NASCAR to the list as well.
According to the National Association Rifle website, “K-Var, a retailer in outdoor and shooting sports products, reports that it was told it would need to edit/change an ad submitted earlier this year it had intended to be included in NASCAR’s official program. The problem, apparently, is that the K-Var ad included depictions of ‘assault-style rifles/sniper rifles.’ Presumably, the offending firearm is an AK-variant manufactured by Arsenal.”
NASCAR is taking a “gradual shift…on guns” and will no longer allow partners to advertise commonly-owned rifles. This pathetic decision will cause their current customers to take a gradual shift on @NASCAR and will alienate potential customers. Good luck! https://t.co/HqRv7kIRci pic.twitter.com/ixBplhX45I

K-var’s website put out a statement that read, “We just heard from NASCAR on a number of gun related ads and unfortunately, due a gradual shift in NASCAR’s position on guns, these ads must be edited/changed—especially those that are depicted as assault-style rifles/sniper rifles. NASCAR is still open to some of the less controversial gun accessories, concealed carry, or classes.”
That seems biased, doesn’t it?
How long will this last before the NASCAR organization becomes completely anti-gun altogether. As they say, you give a mouse a cookie and it’s going to want a glass of milk.
