Just when you thought United States women’s national team co-captain Megan Rapinoe had disappeared from the media frenzy surrounding their win at the World Cup, she pops back up like a game of whack-a-mole.
Rapinoe has attempted to claw her way back to relevance since the USWNT’s win at the World Cup with mostly failed attempts. She sometimes appears on liberal news shows to mostly express her disdain towards President Trump and his administration.
But now Megan Rapinoe is back in the spotlight again after this political endorsement.
Following the USWNT defeating the Netherlands in the World Cup Finals to take home the gold, the entire team celebrated for about a week straight of binge drinking, which isn’t exclusive to that particular team because most championship teams do the same, but there was something exceptionally annoying about this team celebrating.
It had nothing to do with gender, although feminists would insist otherwise.
Instead, it was about how they represented us on the world stage during the FIFA 2019 tournament.
It began when Megan Rapinoe was asked if she would attend President Trump’s White House if they won the gold in the 2019 World Cup and she shocked everyone by saying, “I’m not going to the f—king White House.”
From there it was all aboard the international attention train. And then there’s the over-celebrations like when they annihilated Thailand 13-0, literally celebrating after every single goal. And then Rapinoe struck an arrogant pose when she scored the first goal against France.
This was that image described as an “iconic” pose by the liberal media.

One U.K. article in The Daily Mail tried to justify how England could beat the heavily dominating USWNT by entitling it, “Are these US World Cup Stars Just TOO Arrogant?” in describing them.
About a week after the World Cup Finals, the attention dissipated and the only one who seemed to be begging for that 15 minutes of fame once again was co-captain Rapinoe.
Rapinoe shocked a lot of people when she posted on social media endorsing her support for Democratic nominee hopeful and the current Senator from Massachusetts, Elizabeth Warren, for the presidential candidacy.
She posted on Instagram, “I truly believe the best things in life are a result of being bold and being real. This extends to every part of my life and nothing feels more relevant and real than this election,” Rapinoe wrote in a caption shared to her Instagram account. “I’m proud to endorse @elizabethwarren today, for being bold, for being real, for listening to ALL of us, and for being prepared to navigate the unique challenges we face today as a country.”
It also shows a split-screen video of Warren congratulating Rapinoe on Sports Illustrated naming her “Sportsperson of the Year” and also praising her advocacy of social justice causes saying, “I would love to endorse you and be on your team help in any way that I can, so consider me Team Warren.”

It’s a little self-congratulatory and self-serving. It’s as if she’s dying to get back into the spotlight, right?
It’s likely that Rapinoe waited to endorse Sen. Warren for the Democratic nominee because she was waiting for Sen. Kamala Harris to drop out of the race – or vice versa if Warren did. The reason for that is because Sen. Harris advocated for the equal pay of the USWNT and the US Men’s national team following the World Cup Finals.
Now that Sen. Harris is out, the choice was easy for Rapinoe to make.
Although, we all know she’s going to vote for the Democratic nominee regardless of who it is.
