Corporate media is completely dominated by the left.
The phenomenon is even worse in sports media.
But one legendary sports broadcaster made a comment that had liberals gnashing their teeth.
In 2016, a higher percentage of sports journalists voted for Hillary Clinton than did news journalists.
That gives an idea of just how left-wing sports media has become over the years.
Journalists have been attempting to nudge sports to the left for decades.
But legendary broadcaster Brent Musburger is not on board with the agenda.
During a recent podcast appearance, Musburger showed no remorse for an incident that got him a lot of heat from liberals in 2013.
While providing play-by-play commentary for the college football national championship game between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, the camera panned to Katherine Webb, the girlfriend of Alabama’s starting quarterback AJ McCarron.
Musburger commented on Webb’s beauty, which infuriated feminists on the left at the time.
During his appearance on The Shamrock podcast, Musburger joked about the incident and called out the “woke” media.
Musburger said, “I still tease [Coach Brian Kelly] that when he got blown out by Alabama in that national championship game, I took all the heat off him because I called a beauty queen beautiful…I was the villain that night in the eyes of many, especially the ‘woke’ journalists with some of the papers around the country.”

After a weekend in Vegas, @Matt_Fortuna and I talked Notre Dame past and present with the great Brent Musburger, who has a running joke with Brian Kelly from the 2012 BCS National Championship Game

Recently, Musburger also came to the defense of former Las Vegas Raiders head coach Jon Gruden, who was run out of the NFL because of ancient emails he sent to a former general manager while working as a broadcaster for ESPN.
The damaging emails were unearthed as part of a witch hunt against the Washington Commanders; out of a treasure trove of hundreds of thousands of emails, only Gruden’s were untoward, which is incredibly difficult to believe.
Musburger explained, “As I told Coach [Gruden], ‘Whoever took you out, Jon, that was a paid assassin.’ That was one of the best hit jobs that I’ve ever been around. They didn’t go to their media goombahs. They didn’t leak this to Adam Schefter or one of those guys that breaks stories. They first went to the Wall Street Journal. And when Gruden was still coaching after that, then they dumped the rest of it on the New York Times. That was a professional hit job.”
Gruden is suing the NFL for maliciously targeting him as part of the investigation.
Gruden was very critical of Commissioner Roger Goodell in the emails, so it’s not a leap to believe that someone in the league office would be out to get him.
The backlash against “woke” is coming.
People are tired of walking on eggshells around leftists who are hell-bent on imposing insane political correctness.
Musburger is one member of the media who refuses to play that game.
