Jesse Jackson has been spewing race-baiting ignorance for years.
Several years ago, when the delusional Jackson was called out for his obvious race-baiting, he compared himself to Martin Luther King Jr. and his powerful influence.
Jesse Jackson brought him up again recently with a head-scratching bizarre comment about MLK and LeBron James.
Breitbart reports:
“The sports media’s attempt to turn LeBron James into a civil rights icon has been well documented.
But, now the civil rights icons have gotten into the act as well.
LeBron addressed the media on Wednesday, in the aftermath of the incident at his home where someone spray-painted racial graffiti on his gate, saying that if the incident can “keep the conversation (on racism) going, to keep progressing, not regressing, I’m not against it happening.”
That comment, and others, brought a response from Reverend Jesse Jackson, who thinks LeBron has handled the situation with “sensitivity” and “responsibility.”
According to USA Today Sports:
LeBron is in a rare zone of being a high-profile super athlete and a (civil) servant leader.
He has an acute sensitivity to shining a light in dark places.
He embraces that responsibility despite the risk. Athletes with greatness, who show authentic manhood, assume that risk. Muhammad Ali assumed that risk — for social justice.
Now LeBron is, too.
His genius goes far beyond the court. I just wish Dr. (Martin Luther) King had gotten to meet (James) and see the kind of man he is.”
And this isn’t about bashing LeBron for undoubtedly being a humanitarian.
LeBron is an extremely charitable man of the community who returned to his hometown to bring “The Land” a championship after they burned his jerseys in the streets just 4 years earlier because of his infamous “The Decision” announcement.
Think about it, LeBron is so revered as an athlete that an entire community burned his jersey in the streets.
Also, per NBA and NBPA rules, all basketball players are encouraged to give charitable contributions back to the community.
If they don’t, they’re sneered at.
Upon Kevin Durant leaving the OKC Thunder – he’s widely hated there now, much like LeBron – Durant’s charity foundation gave $57,000 to Positive Tomorrows schools in December while he was playing for the Golden State Warriors.
Where is Jackson’s love for Durant?
No, Jackson is using LeBron’s LA home being spray painted with a racial epithet as a way to race-bait – again.
Also, this absurd notion that he wishes MLK had gotten to meet LeBron is as ridiculous as saying “I wish Abraham Lincoln had gotten to meet Barack Obama and see the kind of man he is.”
Not everyone is vandalizing black superstar athletes’ homes, and even Sen. Marco commented on it.
USA Today reported:
“Senator Marco Rubio also stood in solidarity with James.
‘There are still some sick and stupid people around and at least one of them decided to vandalize LeBron’s family home in Los Angeles,’ Rubio said in a statement to USA TODAY Sports.
‘But the bigger problem is the ones who aren’t vandalizing houses but rather living out their hate in the way they treat others at work, online or in the community. We can never allow hate to be acceptable.’”
Rubio’s response is levelheaded and appropriate. Jackson is using LeBron James to perpetuate his liberal agenda and it needs to stop.
What would Jesse Jackson know about sensitivity???
