Major League Baseball is walking into the trap of getting political.
The league had largely avoided the progressive invasion seen in the NFL and NBA.
And a baseball manager called out one ridiculous anti-American anthem protest.
Three-time World Series-winning manager Tony La Russa is calling out San Francisco Giants manager Gabe Kapler for his anti-American anthem protest.
Kapler said he would not come out for the anthem until America passes gun control laws that make him happy.

Kapler curiously suspended his protest for Memorial Day, which is a dead giveaway that the protests are in fact about denigrating the country and its unifying symbols.
He just didn’t have the stomach to do it on Memorial Day when the nation’s fallen veterans are honored.
But La Russa was not on board with Kapler’s protest.
The Chicago White Sox manager said, “Where I disagree is that the flag and the anthem are not appropriate places to try to voice your objection. I think you go directly to what the cause that really bothers you about the direction of the country is…So to me, it isn’t the flag and the anthem. I think it makes more sense to figure out which of those issues and speak about the ones he didn’t like and what he will do about it.”
That used to be the near-consensus view until Colin Kaepernick ignited the anthem protests in the NFL, and the media turned him into a revolutionary folk hero.
La Russa added, “I would never not stand up for the anthem or the flag. Maybe just because I’m older, and I’ve been around veterans more than the average person…Some of their courage comes from what the flag means to them and when they hear the anthem. You need to understand what the veterans think when they hear the anthem or see the flag. And the cost they paid and their families. And if you truly understand that, I think it’s impossible not to salute the flag and listen to the anthem.”
However, more and more sports figures are going “woke.”
Golden State Warriors head coach was praised by the media for going on a jumbled rant about gun control.

Hopefully, more managers agree with La Russa than Kapler, and Major League Baseball isn’t poisoned with leftist politics.
