The NFL has been consumed by Black Lives Matter protests.
Players are being encouraged to promote social justice initiatives.
Now an NFL Player’s message to police will leave you speechless.
The NFL didn’t learn its lesson from the anti-American anthem protest debacle that caused a massive dip in viewership.
Since that years-long saga died down, the league has redoubled its commitment to social justice in light of George Floyd’s death.
During the league’s opening weekend stadiums played the unofficial black national anthem while also playing the Star-Spangled Banner.
Players have also worn the names of people shot and killed by the cops on their helmets, but one player broke ranks and the left isn’t happy.
Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey instead chose to wear the name of slain police officer Eric Kelly on his helmet.

Pouncey and the Steelers initially chose to wear the name of police victim Antwon Rose, but after learning that Rose committed a drive-by shooting before being shot by a cop, Pouncey no longer felt it appropriate to wear his name on his helmet.
Pouncey clarified his stance in a statement:
“I was given limited information on the situation regarding Antwon, and I was unaware of the whole story surrounding his death and what transpired during the trial following the tragedy. I should have done more research to fully understand what occurred in its entirety.”
Rose’s mother and blue checkmark Twitter were irked by Pouncey’s principled stance.
He continued in his statement:
“My work with the police, both in Pittsburgh and back home in Florida, is well documented. I don’t always feel the need to highlight what I do with police departments, but I also want to make sure they understand I inadvertently supported a cause of which I did not fully comprehend the entire background of the case.”
It’s important that Pouncey admitted his mistake because someone needs to challenge the left’s runaway narrative that police officers are indiscriminately shooting black suspects.
Professional athletes could’ve used Pouncey’s introspection regarding the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
The city went up in flames shortly after partial footage of Blake being shot went viral.
However, the truth is that Blake was credibly accused of rape, and he was trespassing on the property of his alleged victim.
That’s why police were called to the scene in the first place.
Then Blake resisted arrest, shrugged off taser shots, and marched to his car allegedly to retrieve a knife.
Despite these disturbing facts, the NBA shut down the playoffs for several days in some misguided protest of Blake’s shooting.
Even teams in other sports shut down temporarily.
NBA analyst Kenny Smith even walked off the set in solidarity with the protests.
This is deranged behavior, especially for a man who allegedly raped a woman while trespassing on her property.
More players should take their cues from Pouncey.
