Everything is fine and dandy until it hits too close to home. In this case, it’s both literally and metaphorically. LeBron James shocked everybody when he condemned Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey’s tweet supporting pro-Democracy Hong Kong protesters by saying he was “misinformed” on the issues.
The hypocrisy of James speaking up on social justice issues and politics in America while turning the other cheek on these HK protesters’ fight against tyranny because he’s protecting his money is astounding.
And LeBron James, along with his family, were forced to flee their home in Los Angeles Sunday night. Now he knows how the Hong Kong protesters feel.
People all over the world are fighting against corruption and tyrannical regimes. It’s currently happening all over South America and has been for decades. In Lebanon, anti-government demonstrators created a human chain running across the entire country from the north to the south on Sunday, with members of all religious communities in the Middle Eastern nation taking part to show solidarity.
And in Hong Kong, riots have progressed to the point of violence as rioters have tried forcing the People’s Republic of China out of the area for months now.
You would think spoiled multimillionaire athletes who have a big footprint in Asia would have a strong pro-Democracy opinion on this issue. You would think that, but you’d be wrong.
The NBA, the Walt Disney Company, Blizzard and Riot Games are just several of the institutions that have remained quiet on the anti-Democracy tragedy in Hong Kong.
But NBA athletes LeBron James and James Harden are the only individual athletes who have spoken out. Unfortunately, they did so in favor of the People’s Republic of China. Who knew these liberal superstars would support communist dictatorships? After his comments, James became public enemy number one on the streets of Hong Kong where they burned his jerseys in the streets.
Over the last 10 days, California has been dealing with Santa Ana winds, which means it’s fire season throughout the dry climate area. Los Angeles has seen the worst of it so far. These fires in Southern California have caused thousands to flee their homes.
One of them is none other than Los Angeles Lakers small forward LeBron James who tweeted he had to evacuate his multimillion dollar home due to a fire growing dangerously close to his community.
He tweeted, “Had to emergency evacuate my house and I’ve been driving around with my family trying to get rooms. No luck so far!”
Man these LA 🔥 aren’t no joke. Had to emergency evacuate my house and I’ve been driving around with my family trying to get rooms. No luck so far! 🤦🏾♂️

Are you kidding? What’s funny about that tweet is that you’re telling me they’re just driving around Los Angeles going to hotels looking for rooms? James has personal assistants right? Couldn’t they do that for him?
Even funnier than that, you know they could have found a room instantly but they would never be caught dead in anything but a 5-star hotel.
Also, even if the hotel is completely booked, they never really sell out. And to accommodate a high-profile celebrity like LeBron James and his family, do you really think anybody would turn the family down.
But he did end up finding a room.
Finally found a place to accommodate us! Crazy night man!

But the hypocrisy was with this tweet.
I 🙏🏾 for all the families in the area that could be affected by these 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 now! Pretty please get to safety ASAP

Where is this kind of compassion for the people in Hong Kong? Is it only because it hit too close to home that he would have this kind of sentiment?
God has a funny way of making some people eat their own words, huh?
