The anti-American Anthem protests are a disaster for the NFL.
Ticket sales and TV ratings are on the decline.
But one NFL player just made protesting peers look bad with an amazing gesture.
Anthem Protests Went Way Over the Line
Colin Kaepernick is the man behind the awful protests.
He took a knee in 2016 and the league hasn’t been the same.
Many players copied his protest.
Kaepernick said he was protesting police brutality against black people.
But he was really protesting America because he’s become a radical leftist.
Nevertheless, players followed his lead.
Million of fans turned away from NFL stadiums. Television ratings also dropped. Advertisers pulled out.
The league owners even agreed to give the players $89 million for activist causes.
But the players persist.
The worst moment of the protests happened when members of the Jacksonville Jaguars knelt for the American national anthem, then stood for the British national anthem.
Tragedy Brings Perspective
Sadly, a deadly shooting occurred in Jacksonville.
A gunman shot up a video game tournament after losing.
Immediately the left played politics.
They turned the issue into a gun control debate and said Florida needed tougher gun laws.
Then the public learned the shooter bought the gun in his home state of Maryland, which has stricter gun laws.
Lost in the left’s political attacks was the bravery of the first responders.
EMTs and police officers rushed to the scene to save lives.
These are the exact people that Kaepernick believes are evil murderers of people of color.
Kaepernick thinks cops go around killing people and getting paid leave.
In a nation of 325 million people, there are bound to be some bad cops.
The overwhelming majority do a good job under difficult circumstances.
Just like the ones in Jacksonville.
Standing Up and Making a Difference
While Jacksonville Jaguars players are kneeling for The Star-Spangled Banner in a foreign country, team quarterback Blake Bortles is taking a stand.
Bortles bought food for all of the first responders who reacted to the Jacksonville shooting.
Big shout out to Blake Bortles, @BB5Foundation, and Mambos Cuban Cafe for delivering all of this food to the officers that have been working the recent tragedy. It’s been a long couple days and we are so appreciative for your kindness. Thank you. pic.twitter.com/pd4n4FHBKI

While other players aimlessly disrespect the flag and the police, Bortles is making a difference.
The foolish thing about Kaepernick’s protest is that it was pointless.
The Department of Justice under Barack Obama was already looking into police shootings.
The DOJ found no widespread racial bias in the police force.
These facts are irrelevant to anthem protesters.
Kaepernick wore socks with cops as pigs. He also compared them to slave catchers of the 1850s.
Meanwhile, Bortles was helping the officers who were literally saving lives.
Perhaps Bortles’s teammates will learn something from him.
But after their ugly stunt in London, nobody should hold their breath.
