Trump Derangement Syndrome has run amok.
Liberals become enraged when people don’t join their parade of endless Trump hate.
And what Tiger Woods just said about the president made them furious.
Republicans Buy Sneakers, Too
In the 1990s, liberal journalists tried to pressure Michael Jordan into commenting on North Carolina Senate candidate Jesse Helms.
Jordan astutely pointed out that not all of his fans agree politically.
The left has tried to paint Jordan’s position as callous or cowardly.
Leftists either don’t care or don’t understand that Jordan’s message was unifying.
People are never going to agree on politics. But they can come together and enjoy events in public.
They can be civil toward one another while sharing common interests.
That leads to a more compassionate society.
Dividing people along political lines in every facet of American life is terrible for the country.
The Fall of ESPN
The once-great ESPN has chosen to divide America over political ideology.
The sports channel dedicated itself to progressive politics and continues to lose viewers at a rapid rate.
The latest example of the network’s divisive rhetoric revolves around golf superstar Tiger Woods.
After his most recent tournament, a reporter shoved a microphone in his face and tried to push Woods into speaking ill of the president.
Tiger didn’t take the bait.
Woods, who has played golf with Donald Trump in the past, said people should respect the office of the presidency.
When the reporter pressed harder for a negative comment on Trump, Woods deflected.
Woods’s response deeply troubled the leftists on ESPN.
First Take co-host Max Kellerman went on a long rant about how angry he was at Tiger.
Kellerman said, “It really bothers me. I’m angry at what Tiger Woods said. It is a thoughtless statement dressed up as a thoughtful statement. And it either holds in contempt the intelligence of people who hear it or else it’s just a stupid thing to say.”
How dare Woods respect the office of the president?
Only hate-filled leftist talking points are valid.
Kellerman continued, ”To say you must have respect for the office — Tiger, be clear. Are you saying that the office, therefore, confers respect on to its present temporary occupant? No. Having respect for the office means principally, in my view, is the office holder should have respect for the office.”
Apparently Kellerman is the only one who gets to decide what respect for the office is.
Trump is rolling back the power of the executive branch through deregulation and putting legislation in the hands of Congress. Where it belongs.
He’s appointing constitutionalists to the judiciary.
Many would say that’s showing respect for the office.
But the left only cares about appearances. Not results.
The War On Trump
Kellerman’s anger at Woods morphed into its true form. Hatred of Trump.
He continued, “ It is not such that we have such great respect for the office that no matter what the behavior of its occupant, we must respect the occupant because of the office.”
Kellerman has it backwards.
Respect is conferred on the president, not specifically the man who holds the office.
Conservatives hated Barack Obama’s policies, but didn’t try to wreck the country as a result.
One can’t say the same about the left.
Kellerman concluded, “No. Tiger Woods … is being slick. We must respect the office therefore that confers respect to the occupant. Tiger, is that is what you are saying? If that is what you are saying, that is a stupid comment.”
Kellerman is simply part of the mainstream media that are on a mission to take down Trump. Hundreds of papers from around the country got together to attack Trump.
Kellerman is the sports plank of that machine.
Former ESPN chairman John Skipper pushed hard for more left-wing politics on the network.
New chairman James Pitaro says he wants the network to get back to straight sports, but his on-air personalities have other ideas.
