The left is doing its best to kill comedy.
Late-nite comedians are now reduced to mouthpieces for Democratic Party talking points.
But one comedian took attacks on conservatives too far, making himself look like a fool in the process.
Charlotte Pence, daughter of the Vice President, released an apolitical children’s book illustrated by her mother about the family’s pet bunny.
Late-nite comic and left-wing shill John Oliver decided that was a great opportunity to attack the kid’s book by releasing an alternate storybook about a bunny that lampoons the Vice President.
From The Daily Wire:
Second Daughter Charlotte Pence is all class.
Reacting to “Last Week Tonight” host John Oliver’s targeting of her new children’s book with a partisan spoof about two gay bunnies, Charlotte told Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo that she was “all for” two books bringing in money to charity.
“I think imitation is the most sincere form of flattery in a way,” said the 24-year-old. “But in all seriousness, his book is contributing to charities that I think we can all get behind. We have two books that are giving to charities that are both about bunnies, so I’m all for it, really.”

instagram #repost #marlonbundo: @LastWeekTonight Not gonna lie, I do look pretty fly in a bow tie. The only thing better than one bunny book for charity is…TWO bunny books for charity. #BOTUS – Marlon
Charlotte’s children’s book, “Marlon Bundo’s Day in the Life of the Vice President,” is a cute, educational story about a day in the life of the Vice President from the perspective of her pet bunny, Marlon Bundo. The book was illustrated by her mother, Second Lady Karen Pence, and a portion of the proceeds goes to a charity dedicated to stopping sex trafficking.
Somehow, Oliver thought it necessary to turn the 24-year-old’s children’s book into a partisan attack.
Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief Ben Shapiro reported Monday on Oliver’s attack on “anti-gay” Vice President Mike Pence and Republicans, and the liberal host’s followers’ attack on Charlotte’s book via Amazon:
“Oliver released a book called A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo, supposedly written by Marlon Bundo with Jill Twiss, and illustrated by EG Keller. That was designed as a slight against Pence; he launched into a rant about how Pence supposedly hates gay people, then said he would be releasing the competing book. This book is about homosexual rabbits: Marlon is gay and falls in love with Wesley while living at the Naval Observator. The bad guy: Stink Bug, who looks like Mike Pence.
But it wasn’t sufficient to launch a book specifically designed to target an innocent children’s book with propaganda about how Republicans hate gay people/rabbits. Oliver’s followers then went to the Amazon page for Charlotte Pence’s book and spammed it with one-star reviews.”
So there you have it: Pence’s apolitical daughter writes an innocent children’s book for charity and the Left felt it necessary to zero in for an attack. The media and daytime talk show hosts, of course, praised Oliver for the attack.
And, still, Charlotte exhibits nothing but class in response.
Releasing the counter book was bad enough, but unleashing a coordinated smear campaign on the book’s Amazon page was repugnant.
In contrast, Chelsea Clinton released a children’s book which was very political called “She Persisted,” and conservatives relatively left her alone.
It’s a shame that the “tolerant” left couldn’t afford Charlotte Pence the same decency for a children’s book that had no political bent whatsoever.
