Sure, some celebrities are annoying to a point where they can’t stop talking about the current state of politics like it’s the end of the world.
But there are others like Will Ferrell who refuse to use his celebrity status to be divisive about his personal political views. He never talks about it.
And Ferrell just did something hilarious at a Los Angeles Kings game.
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy is without a doubt considered to be one of the greatest comedies ever made.
The Adam McKay directed vehicle also stars Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner, Steve Carell, and Christina Applegate.
It follows inept, inappropriate, local San Diego newsmen whose whole world is turned upside down when Veronica Corningstone joins the team.
It’s filled with hi-jinks and wonderfully scatological with zero plot. That’s part of its charm because this story is all about the foolish sexist characters.
Will Ferrell as Ron Burgundy embodies everything hilarious about a knucklehead anchorman.
Occasionally, he reprises his role like he did at a recent Los Angeles Kings game when he called part of the game from the broadcast as Ron Burgundy.
In classic character fashion, he nailed some jokes with his play-by-play calling.
For instance, one great gag is that he started randomly eating a burrito right in the middle of it.
Another is when he said, “I once saw Jeff Carter with his shirt off in the locker room … he’s got the goods. Cleared by the Kings! Take that, San Jose!! Zero Stanley Cups. ZERO Stanley Cups for the San Jose Sharks!! Shot on goal, he scores!! Put that baby to bed without a diaper.”
The two other broadcasters were enjoying his commentary immensely and the crowd cheered when he showed up on the Staples Center Megatron.
They really had Ron Burgundy in the LA Kings booth last night 😂

This is likely due to the fact that Ferrell has a new podcast that he’s doing as Ron Burgundy simply and appropriately called Ron Burgundy Podcast.
It’s pretty funny too. It rolled out in December and the first episode called “True Crime” was about, you guessed it, true crime. Part of the hilarity is that Ron Burgundy is really nervous about putting on a good show.
The initial press release said the show would be a, “scripted audio drama set in Ron Burgundy’s world,” But it really is just like any other podcast. It’s just Ron Burgundy talking to you.
Audiences and critics alike couldn’t believe how bad it was. At one point the movie had a 0% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
So it makes sense why he would decide to bring Ron Burgundy back to life. He’s giving the people what they want.
