Hollywood progressives have gone off the deep end.
They’re becoming evermore hostile while preaching for “tolerance.”
And a Trump-deranged actor just insulted Christians with one ridiculous statement.
The Left doesn’t even try to hide its antipathy toward Christianity anymore.
For example, “Woke” progressives have been campaigning against Chick-Fil-A for over a decade because of CEO Dan Cathy’s views on traditional marriage.
In Hollywood, Academy Award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey said he witnessed fellow Christian colleagues stop themselves from applauding the mention of God for fear of being ostracized as a believer.
That’s the sign of a culture out of whack.
Now far-left LGBT actor and activist Billy Porter is ratcheting up the attack on Christianity.
Porter, who stars in the FX drag queen series Pose, said of Christians:
“I’m talking about black people, too, who have turned their back on the LGBTQ+ community, using and weaponizing the Bible for the justification for their hate. It’s called hate. I don’t care how you word it. Hate the sin, not the sinner.”
Porter’s words echoed that of the far-left news site The Root, which had a piece titled “Black Men Are the White People of Black People.”
The thrust of the piece was that black men oppress women and gays within the black community.
It’s an absurd proposition and shows how some activists have some twisted revenge mindset against Christians who largely want to practice their faith and be left alone.
Porter went even further in his critique, saying:
“It’s the miseducation of not understanding that Christianity is the colonizer’s religion. Christianity is what white people forced on us after bringing us over, stealing us from our own country, bringing us over here to build this country, and they told us that Jesus told them to do it and we’ll have rewards on the other side. And that’s the same doctrine that you’re using to oppress another group of people. No! The answer is no!”
This is another absurd argument.
First, people of all ethnicities around the world identify as Christians, and not because of colonization.
Christianity is not a “white” religion.
Second, by Porter’s logic, the same would have to hold true for Islam.
The Barbary Coast slave trade was particularly brutal, but Islam is weirdly considered the religion of the oppressed in the west.
Taking shots at Christianity has been trendy Hollywood chic for a while, but it’s now devolved into grotesque displays for attention.
Meanwhile, leftism behaves like a secular religion, and Porter and other progressives are attempting to force conversion, only with the threat of cancelation instead of a scimitar.
Porter appeared on Sesame Street in drag, because for some reason it’s deeply important to inculcate LGBT values into young children.
But even some members of that community are pushing back against the Left’s advance on kids.
Drag performer Kitty Demure said on Twitter:
“I have absolutely no idea why you would want that to influence your child. Would you want a stripper or a porn star to influence your child? You can raise your child to be just a normal regular everyday child without including them in gay, sexual things.”
Sadly, this kind of common sense is in short supply.
