The NFL draft is a perfect representation of achieving the American Dream because in most cases that hard work translates into financial freedom for them and their families.
But sometimes those players’ egos become insufferable because the money and fame went to their head. Then they use that platform as a way to infuse their political ideologies that largely lean to the left.
And when President Trump congratulated one now-NFL player on Twitter the liberals went crazy and classified him as a racist.
The words “racism,” “misogynists,” and “bigots” are thrown around by liberals so often that the definitions of those words have certainly shifted since President Trump won in 2016.
Liberals accuse anybody who supports Trump as all of these terms.
That was the same for arguably the best position-player in the 2019 NFL draft, Nick Bosa, who was drafted second overall by the San Francisco 49ers.
At one point, Bosa was an unapologetic Trump supporter who would tweet veraciously about the current political climate.
It’s unclear whether he decisively deleted those tweets or whether his agents suggested he do that for the sake of his career, but he did it nonetheless.
When the 49ers selected him, Trump tweeted, “Congratulations to Nick Bosa on being picked number two in the NFL Draft. You will be a great player for years to come, maybe one of the best. Big Talent! San Francisco will embrace you but most importantly, always stay true to yourself. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
And the reason why everyone, including Time Magazine, blasted Trump is because he didn’t give the same sort of praise to the first overall pick, Kyler Murray, who happens to be an African American.
TIME’s Tara Law wrote, “Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray was the first overall pick in the NFL draft on Thursday, but on Saturday morning, President Donald Trump decided to congratulate the number two pick instead. Former University of Oklahoma quarterback Murray, who is black, was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals and reportedly offered a $35 million contact. He’s also an accomplished baseball player, and was ninth in the 2018 MLB draft. However, on Twitter the President congratulated Nick Bosa, the second pick, who was chosen by the San Francisco 49ers.”
Former ESPN employee Jemele Hill, who became infamous after calling President Trump a white supremacist tweeted, “Let’s not be naive. The same way the president struggles to denounce white supremacists/nationalists is the same reason he’d praise a no 2 pick w/ similar interests. He is constantly sending bat signals to white supremacists because he relishes their support.”
However, the irony here is that it is naïve. It’s emphatically false.
The reason why Trump gave praise to Bosa has nothing to do with race and everything to do with the peer pressure that was put on the Ohio State star to delete tweets about supporting him.
If you don’t believe that then how do you explain superstar rapper Kanye West’s unwavering support.
Trump wants his supporters to know that they’re not alone and to not be afraid to be vocal about that support.
Unfortunately, that doesn’t stop these bloviating liberals from perpetuating these garbage virtue-signaling “hot takes” on what they believe is racism.
