Cancel culture is spreading like a virus.
It’s become particularly bad in the world of entertainment where wokeness reigns supreme.
But one unexpected Hollywood star is pushing back against the “woke” mob.
Ever since Donald Trump’s victory in 2016, the Left have gone fully insane.
The cancerous idea of wokeness has taken root at the core of the Left, and much of it is enforced by the corporate press and the cultural mandarins in entertainment.
But Lin-Manuel Miranda, creator and star of the hit broadway musical Hamilton, is pushing back slightly against the mob.
Leftist elites slowly began to turn on Hamilton when it became too popular and consumable by the masses on Disney+.
The same crowd twisted the knife when Miranda’s musical Into the Heights was turned into a feature film.
Miranda was dragged by the Left for not having enough “Afro-Latinx” representation in the film; not only plays and movies have to be diverse, they must be diverse in a particular way.
Miranda apologized to the mob when the controversy first roiled.

But now Miranda has taken a new tack.
In an interview with The New Yorker, Miranda said:
“If you get yourself into a place of fear, of ‘What are people going to say about what I write?,’ you’re f*cked…It’s over. And that’s a place I have to really push past now in a different way. At the end of the day, you can’t control how the world receives something.”
Miranda is highlighting the battle that’s being waged in the world of entertainment.
The woke mob wants the diversity, inclusivity, and equity bean counters to control storytelling because everything is political to the Left.
Liberals used to believe in counter-culture art, but now that they control the culture, they have become unbearable scolds when it comes to the arts.
The frightening thing to consider is that there is no point where leftists will concede that they have gone too far.
Miranda and other liberals are slowly beginning to push back against the tsunami of chaos.
They understand that the current trajectory is not sustainable.
Johnny Depp, Ethan Hawke, Ricky Gervais, Russell Brand, and others have all condemned cancel culture and the chilling effect it has on art.
It’s going to take more than a handful of liberals to push back, though, because the unruly zealots on the Left will not stop until their power has been diminished.
Power is the only thing they acknowledge.
While most in Hollywood are bending the knee to the mob, some are starting to resist.
