The sports world is under assault from the left.
Politicians want to weasel into every corner of American life.
Now an MSNBC host attacked the NFL for a reason that will leave you speechless.
Television dramas and sitcoms no longer rake in the gargantuan ratings they once did.
The highest-rated television show on five different channels is the NFL, which means football has massive cultural power.
And that’s why the left is so eager to get its paws all over it.
The corporate press recently seized on the NFL after Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion four days after momentarily leaving a game with a back injury that some speculated was also a concussion.
Tagovailoa passed the NFL’s concussion protocol after the first game, but the doctor who cleared him was subsequently fired amid a wave of backlash from the media.
Now MSNBC host Tiffany Cross is attempting to turn the story into a racial narrative.
From Outkick:
“Tua Tagovailoa’s concussion saga proves the NFL is racist against black people. So says MSNBC host Tiffany Cross. Saturday, Cross hosted failed ESPN anchor Michael Smith on her program to analyze how the NFL handled Tagovailoa’s head injury. For background: Tagovailoa suffered a concussion last Thursday, days after stumbling during a game on the previous Sunday. Smith didn’t have much to add to the conversation; when does he ever? But Cross had no such issue. She claims the NFL allowing Tua to play in a game last week showed a ‘disregard’ for black players.”
Cross, arguably the worst race baiter on television, said, “To see all these black men crashing into each other with a bunch of white owners, white coaches, and the complete disregard for black bodies and black life … it just represents a larger issue.”
What the “larger issue” might be is anyone’s guess.
Also, Cross’s facts are completely wrong.
Tagovailoa is Samoan, not black, and Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel is black, not white.
The Dolphins also have a black general manager.
So many of Cross’s narratives are collapsing all at once.
Leftists constantly rag on the NFL even though the league is responsible for creating more black millionaires than any other organization in American life.
The NFL is a violent game, and it’s violent for everyone who plays it, not just black players.
Cross has a nasty history of stoking racial tension.
Not long ago, she suggested that America is more racist than Nazi Germany.
Cross said, “I think a lot of the black soldiers who joined the Army, hoping that would gain them some respect in this country they were defending, found that white supremacy was more difficult to topple than Hitler’s army itself. And that’s the sad part that we’re still experiencing in this country.”
MSNBC pays Cross to say the most ridiculous and incendiary things about race, and the Tagovailoa situation was a perfect illustration of that.
