Liberals have become more hostile toward religion.
That’s why American culture is increasingly secular.
But a former NFL player made one pro-Christian statement that had liberals furious.
Super Bowl-winning tight end Benjamin Watson has not been afraid to express his Christian values.
That’s why he has been such a strong crusader for the pro-life cause.
Watson recently penned an op-ed in Life News where he explained the clever word games that the Democrats and the abortion lobby use.
Joe Biden referred indirectly to abortion as health care during his State of the Union address. It was a euphemism inside a euphemism: the “right to choose” abortion framed as a necessary part of this thing we call “health care.”
But abortion isn’t health care. And it’s time to stop playing word games.
Health care’s dictionary definition is “efforts made to maintain or restore physical, mental, or emotional well-being especially by trained and licensed professionals.” But abortion doesn’t treat a disease or improve a disorder. It forcibly ends a life.
Pro-abortion zealots try to obscure that fact and conflate healthcare with taking a life.
For example, Planned Parenthood doesn’t even offer many healthcare services; it operates as a for-profit abortion mill.
Talking about abortion like it’s “health care” isn’t just a pernicious, subtle lie. It confuses and obscures reality. It harms women, it harms children and it prevents us from improving countless lives.
There is also a deliberate attempt to convince our kids that abortion is just another part of women’s health care. Planned Parenthood is already in many classrooms nationwide, teaching students that abortions are a normal medical procedure. This muddies the water even more, and is going to make real maternal health care reform increasingly difficult as time passes.
Abortion is particularly sold to black and Hispanic women as proper “healthcare.”
In New York City, more black babies are aborted than born.
Watson previously addressed this disturbing trend when he said:
“Abortion saddens me period, but it seems to be something that is really pushed on minorities and provided to minorities especially as something that they should do…We sit here and talk about advancing the black agenda, whatever that means, we talk about our interests, and what’s important to us – like having political power and advancement and all those things – and then we are turning around and we are killing our children…And we are buying the lie that it’s our personal decision to make.”
Watson is one of the public figures pushing back against the leftist culture that worships abortion.
One Hollywood actress after another has spoken about how she owed her career to abortion.
Michelle Williams, Uma Thurman, Busy Philipps, and Milana Vayntrub are just a few actresses who hold abortion as a sacrament.
The left used to say that abortion should be “safe, legal, and rare,” but now they want abortions to be government-funded up to the point of birth.
That’s how quickly leftists have gone radical on the issue.
