The Democrats are in complete meltdown mode.
They can’t handle the fact Donald Trump has thus far had a successful presidency despite the full-on media assault against him.
Now one outspoken liberal is so infuriated by Trump, he just made a ridiculous proposition to Mitt Romney.
Comedian Bill Maher has made a career out of being bombastic. Although he’s a staunch enemy of political correctness, Maher is an unabashed liberal.
As have nearly all of his compatriots on the left, Maher has been overcome by Trump Derangement Syndrome.
On multiple occasions, he’s said Trump is a fascist who will not give up the Oval Office even after he’s exceeded his term limits.
This is a disingenuous claim made by many leftists. If they truly thought Trump were a fascist, they wouldn’t be in such a hurry to ensure that only the government can have guns.
Fascist is just a cheap shorthand the left uses whenever it wants to dismiss someone with an opposing viewpoint.
Democrats recklessly label every Republican presidential candidate a fascist or a Nazi, then rehabilitate him years later in order to brand the next Republican as a true fascist or Nazi.
Such is the case with Mitt Romney, whom Democrats labeled a soulless robber baron who loathed women and dogs. Now he’s a respectable moderate.
During a live show in Oklahoma, Maher went so far as to offer Romney money to take the presidency from Trump.
“I would gladly give Romney $1M tomorrow if he would take over America. Swear to god! I will become a Mormon, how about that?”
Maher was only half-kidding because he seems to believe Trump will never leave office, similar to the communist dictators the left has enabled or made excuses for; the left is mum on Venezuela—the latest socialist experiment to implode— and Nicolas Maduro dismantling the last remnants of democracy.
Democrats would surely welcome Romney primarying Trump in 2020. The left’s reversal on Romney shows a consistent pattern.
Maher previously admitted as much when he said liberals cried wolf too many times with regard to GOP candidates. In a 2016 episode of his television show “Real Time with Bill Maher,” Maher said:
“I know liberals made a big mistake because we attacked…Bush like he was the end of the world. And he wasn’t. And Mitt Romney we attacked that way. I gave Obama a million dollars because I was so afraid of Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney wouldn’t have changed my life that much or yours. Or John McCain.”
If Maher were being honest, he would have to admit the same thing about Trump. Since he’s taken office, Trump has overseen a strong economy and delivered a potential détente with a nuclear North Korea.
The over-the-top hysteria about Trump is entirely media-created, and Maher plays a hand in that.
Not only has he suggested Trump will never leave, he’s openly called for a crippling recession simply to weaken American confidence in Trump.
The left labeled Richard Nixon a Nazi, then highlighted his creation of the EPA and opening the west to China when it was time to rehabilitate him and tear down Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan.
They did the same to Reagan, both Bushes, John McCain, and now Romney.
One day the left will be reminiscing about Trump’s strong economy when the real Hitler is on the GOP ballot.
