Liberal comedian Bill Maher is on thin ice with the left.
He refuses to accept all of the insane dogma of progressives.
And Maher angered liberals with one statement about an NFL coach.
Bill Maher has a bad case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, but over the past few years, he’s been willing to call out the insanity of the left.
He did so again after Washington Commanders defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio was fined for making comments about January 6th that did not align with the left’s narrative of the day being worse than 9/11, as some Democrat pundits have stupidly argued.
During a recent episode of his show, Maher said, “He called the January 6th riot a ‘dust-up.’ Now, this is a very common view that he has…If I could talk to Mr. Del Rio, I think I could probably, hopefully convince him a little bit that it was more than a dust-up. He also compares it a lot to the 2020 protests that were going on after the George Floyd murder. Okay, I think I could also convince him there [are] really important differences between those two things, and actually the attack on the Capitol was worse. Nevertheless, he has a right to be wrong. In America, you have the right to be wrong. They fined him. The team fined him $100,000 for this opinion. Fining people for an opinion, I am not down with that.”
Maher went on to criticize Del Rio’s boss, Commanders’ head coach Ron Rivera, for double talk on the issue of free speech.
Maher explained, “His boss said…‘He does have the right to voice his opinion as a citizen of the United States and it most certainly is his constitutional right to do so.’ Apparently not! … What the f*ck are you talking about? He doesn’t have a right to an opinion, and it’s obviously not his right to do so.”

Maher is correct.
Del Rio does not have the right to express his opinion without being fined $100,000.
The corporate press tried to blow the incident out of proportion.
Del Rio apologized and deleted his Twitter account, but at least two star players on the defense had their coordinator’s back.
ESPN reported that “one person close to defensive end Chase Young said of Del Rio, ‘That’s his guy.’”
Defensive lineman Jonathan Allen added, “I don’t care about his opinion as long as he shows up every day and works hard. That’s what I want from my defensive coordinator.”
The so-called mainstream media doesn’t even want to entertain the idea that some players in the locker room might actually agree with Del Rio.
The left has a narrative that January 6th was the day America almost lost its democracy, but that is not a view shared by most people.
More liberals like Maher need to call out the radicals for bullying people into accepting the “woke” party line before political correctness destroys free speech altogether.
