ESPN has decided to become a left-wing propaganda network.
Sports have taken a backseat to progressive politics.
Now “woke” ESPN is teaming with Colin Kaepernick for one eye-rolling project.
Colin Kaepernick changed the sports media landscape when he incited the anti-American anthem protests.
Ever since then, professional sports have moved wildly to the left.
The corporate press has turned Kaepernick into somewhat of a folk hero.
And now Kaepernick is teaming up with left-wing filmmaker Spike Lee on a docuseries about his radical activism.
From The Wall Street Journal:
“Spike Lee will direct a new documentary about Colin Kaepernick that aims to capture the story of the former NFL quarterback and activist, known for his now-famous decision to kneel during the national anthem to protest racial injustice. Mr. Lee and Mr. Kaepernick are collaborating on the multipart documentary and production on it has begun, ESPN Films said. It didn’t announce a title or release date.”
Despite claims from the media that Kaepernick “sacrificed” for his political stance, he has signed lucrative deals with several major corporations.
Kaepernick has signed with the top media company (Disney), the top apparel company (Nike), the top publishing company (Penguin Random House), the top streaming content company (Netflix), and the top sports video game producer (EA Sports).
It pays to be a “martyr” when several multinational megacorporations flock to your side.
The Journal continued:
“Former ESPN anchor and writer Jemele Hill will be a producer for the documentary…Walt Disney…which owns ESPN, reached a first-look deal with Ra Vision Media, Mr. Kaepernick’s production arm, in 2020. At the time, Disney said the partnership would ‘focus on telling scripted and unscripted stories that explore race, social injustice and the quest for equity, and will provide a new platform to showcase the work of Black and Brown directors and producers.’”
Kaepernick and former San Francisco 49ers teammate Eric Reid sued the league for collusion, but ultimately settled their claims out of court.
The Journal added:
“Mr. Kaepernick and former NFL safety Eric Reid, who also led protests during the national anthem, alleged that NFL teams colluded to keep them from playing after they spearheaded the protests. The two former players ultimately received less than $10 million to settle their grievances with the NFL, The Wall Street Journal reported in 2019.”
Apparently taking the cash was more important than whatever message Kaepernick was allegedly sending to the league.
If the ESPN docuseries is anything like his dramatized Netflix special, it’s going to be atrocious.
In the Netflix series, Kaepernick argued that the NFL draft combine was tantamount to a slave auction.
In his Netflix special, Colin Kaepernick suggests the NFL training camp is synonymous with literally buying slaves.

ESPN is no longer primarily interested in covering sports.
Left-wing activism is more important now.
