Tim Tebow has had a whirlwind journey since the end of his football career.
He shocked everyone when he said he would pursue a career in Major League Baseball.
Now Tebow just made another announcement that took everyone by surprise.
Tim Tebow has had a rough road.
Despite winning the Heisman Trophy and two national championships at the University of Florida, Tebow was always doubted as an NFL quarterback.
In his lone season as a starter in the league, Tebow led the Denver Broncos to an improbable playoff berth and an upset victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
After his football journey ended, he chose to play baseball, a sport he hadn’t played since high school.
Critics laughed at him, just as they did during his unexpected playoff run.
But Tebow persisted and made the AA all-star game in only his second season in the minor leagues.
New York Mets General Manager Sandy Alderson was supposedly set to pull Tebow up to the majors for a late-season audition, but Tebow suffered an injury that dashed that possibility.
After the season, Alderson was fired, throwing Tebow’s baseball future into jeopardy.
However, New Mets General Manager Brodie Van Wagenen seems to be a fan of Tebow and says he’s “one step away” from the majors.
His baseball dream is still alive.
But all of his success almost didn’t happen.
Tebow’s mother Pam was told to abort him due to complications with her pregnancy.
Pam and her husband chose to trust God and have Tim, and he’s gone on to inspire millions with his faith and dedication.
And now Tebow has found someone to share his life with.
Tebow announced his engagement to 2017 Miss Universe Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters.

Tebow and Nel-Peters met through one of his nonprofits called “Night to Shine,” a worldwide event dedicated to people with special needs.
Nel-Peters’s sister was born without a cerebellum and is completely disabled, so the event holds a special place in her heart.
Tebow proposed at his family home in Jacksonville and graced Nel-Peters with a 7.5-carat engagement ring.
Tebow’s fiancée also shares his fighting spirit.
Months before she won Miss Universe, Nel-Peters was attacked by three carjackers in her native South Africa.
Nel-Peters punched one of the men in the face and ran away.
Johannesburg is one of the most dangerous and deadly cities in the world, so her pageant victory and fateful meeting with Tebow almost didn’t happen.
In addition to the success in baseball and his love life, Tebow is branching into film and television projects.
He and his brother are partnering on a faith-based film that could lead to more projects down the road.
Tebow has been able to thrive in an environment where evangelicals are openly demonized on mainstream media networks like CNN.
Tebow’s journey is a testament to the belief that one can maintain his or her faith in a world that’s becoming more irreligious and immoral by the day.
