Another remarkable season of college football is almost in the books.
Only the national championship game remains for the final chapter of the 2017-18 season ends.
Here’s a look at some of the most notable games of this week in bowl action.
TCU 39 Stanford 37
The Horned Frogs did it again. For the second time in three years, TCU rallied from a big deficit in their bowl game. Two years ago, after trailing 31-0 at the half, TCU clawed back to defeat Oregon 47-41 in the Alamo Bowl. This year, TCU “only” dug themselves out of a 21-3 hole against the Cardinals. The win marked head coach Gary Patterson’s 10th bowl win in 18 seasons. Stanford Heisman runner-up Bryce Love had a great game with 145 yards and 2 touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough.

Penn State 35 Washington 28
For a while, it looked like the Nittany Lions were going to blow out the Huskies. Penn State had a 28-7 lead with the ball near midfield, but a costly fumble near the end of the first half got Washington back in the game, and it turned into a thriller. Superstar runningback Saquon Barkley declared for the NFL draft, but he didn’t disappoint in his college finale, rushing for 137 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Wisconsin 34 Miami 24
After a magical 10-0 start to the season, Miami sputtered down the stretch, dropping their final three games. The Hurricanes were in control with a 14-3 lead, but the game completely flipped when quarterback Malik Rosier threw a costly interception on a botched screen pass. After that play, the Badgers outsourced the Hurricanes 31-10, who looked like a tired and depleted team. The story of the night, however, was Miami head coach Mark Richt shockingly losing his cool and putting hands on an official after a string of bad calls went against his team.

Georgia 54 Oklahoma 48
In dramatic fashion, the Bulldogs won the highest-scoring Rose Bowl, and first to be decided in overtime. The Sooners jumped out to a big 31-14 lead, shredding Georgia’s vaunted defense in the process. But the Bulldogs’ defense tightened in the second half, as did Oklahoma’s playcalling. OU head coach Lincoln Riley, one of the best playcallers in college football, called several conservative runs instead of putting the ball in Heisman trophy winner Baker Mayfield’s hands. However, the game turned at the end of the second quarter when Oklahoma botched a squib kick with only 5 seconds left, which set up Georgia for a 55-yard field goal that gave them momentum and three free points going into halftime.

Alabama 24 Clemson 6
In the rubber match between the contestants of the last two championship games, Alabama emerged victorious. The last two matchups came down to the wire in thrilling fashion, but this semifinal lacked the dramatics. The Crimson Tide seized control late in the third quarter after back-to-back interceptions that led to touchdowns. The Tigers were helpless without the heroics of Deshaun Watson to save the day. Alabama’s victory sets up a national title game matchup with Georgia between Nick Saban, and his former pupil Kirby Smart.
