Megyn Kelly’s career is spiraling out of control.
What’s even worse than her life’s work crumbling is Kelly refuses to believe she’s failed at NBC.
And now she’s so delusional, she’s choosing to ignore the obvious truth about her ratings.
Breitbart reports:
“NBC host Megyn Kelly threw out the first pitch at a minor league baseball game in North Carolina and insisted her “ratings were fine” even though NBC reportedly pulled her Sunday newsmagazine show at least two episodes earlier than planned because of the program’s horrific ratings.
“I thought the ratings were fine,” Kelly said in Chicago earlier in the week before throwing out the first pitch at a Durham Bulls minor league game on Thursday evening.
Kelly is on a promotional tour for her new morning show that will debut in September as NBC is spending heavily to minimize the chances of her damaging the network’s Today show brand even more than she already may have.
Kelly’s show lost to reruns of 60 Minutes and America’s Funniest Home Videos every week and continued to set new viewership lows every week since until her final episode after she returned from her one-week hiatus during the Fourth of July Weekend.
The years-old Dateline rerun that aired when she took that week off actually got more viewers than any of her shows after her return.
In addition, another Dateline rerun that aired the week after Kelly’s show was unceremoniously pulled again got better ratings, as viewers came back to the network as soon as her show was booted.”
Is this surprising?
Of course it’s not.
Megyn Kelly left Fox News amidst accusing former Fox president Roger Ailes of sexual harassment and thought her star-power would transfer anywhere.
So NBC offered her between a $15 million and $20 million contract per year to bring her talents to the liberal network.
Obviously that hasn’t worked out—which you’d think her Sunday night show being canceled would be her indicating factor—but somehow she refuses to believe it.
She’s in denial and it’s beginning to embarrass her.
Kelly’s ratings sank each week since her premiere, and the reason is because she’s alienated NBC’s liberal viewers and Fox’s conservative viewers.
Breitbart reported:
“Kelly has alienated everyone except the small band of “Never Trumpers” on Twitter and anti-Trump pundits who, so desperate for affirmation and attention to make up for their numerous insecurities, gleefully allow themselves to be used as the legacy media’s useful idiots.
The only silver lining for Today may be that Kelly’s tremendously bad ratings may have given Matt Lauer plenty of job security.
Kelly’s ratings were so terrible that NBC executives were reportedly even considering unloading her contract and trying to get Fox News to take her back.
But a high-ranking Fox News official told Breitbart News that Kelly “would not be welcomed back” at the network.”
Television executives realize her actions at Fox News destroyed her base and now she’s worth way less on the market than anybody could have thought.
NBC even contacted Fox to take her back and buy part of her contract out.
But Fox refused.
And what’s worse is that she still can’t come to terms with the writing on wall.
