The NBA is destroying its reputation with nonstop anti-American rhetoric.
San Antonio Spurs Trump-hating head coach is one of the worst perpetrators of spewing America-hating bile.
Now Popovich just perpetuated a big lie that tore the country apart.
Polls in 2008 showed that race relations in America were generally good and trending in a healthy direction.
However, Barack Obama polarized the country along racial lines in order to get re-elected in 2012.
One of the most divisive moments occurred when black teenager Michael Brown was shot and killed by a white police officer in Ferguson, Missouri.
The incident was painted as a racist execution; the “hands up, don’t shoot” movement started as a result.
But it was all a lie.
Brown and a group of friends were walking in the middle of the street when a police officer told them to get off the road.
The situation escalated, Brown reached into the car and reached for the officer’s gun when he was shot.
Multiple witnesses on the scene described the incident in this manner, and Eric Holder, attorney general under Obama, concluded that these were the facts of the case and the officer was cleared of wrongdoing.
But leftists are enemies of the truth.
The election of Donald Trump has forced a lot of public figures to reveal their true identities, and NBA coach Gregg Popovich revealed himself to be a far leftist.
Popovich has railed against Trump on multiple occasions, and even called up the far-left outlet The Nation to give them an impromptu interview about the president.
Now Popovich is actively pushing the “hands up, don’t shoot” lie about Michael Brown six years later.
Popovich said in a video:
“This was a young man who had just graduated from high school about a week earlier, I think. There was some sort of an altercation that everybody has not agreed upon yet. But the fact that is agreed upon is this is a young man with his hands in the air, running away from the officer, running away, and receives six shots in the back that killed him.”
This is a flat-out lie.
The Department of Justice cleared the officer in the shooting, as did a St. Louis prosecutor who recently said no charges would be filed.
Brown was shot in the front, not the back, and he was reaching for the officer’s gun.
Popovich also left out the part where Brown had committed a strong-arm robbery earlier in the night.
Leftists tell the same lies over and over until people believe it’s the truth.
They even convince themselves that it’s true.
This has dangerous consequences.
Informal surveys have shown that some people believe the police kills thousands, if not millions, of unarmed black people every single year.
The number for 2019 was nine.
The hysteria created and perpetuated by people like Popovich is way out of proportion, and it’s unnecessarily dividing the country.
