The anti-American protests remain a blight on the NFL’s brand.
Millions of fans walked away from the league after the unpatriotic displays.
Now politicians are trying to turn the protesters into heroes, but Senator Ted Cruz wasn’t having any of that.
Down Is Up
Leftists have a way of distorting the truth to fit their agenda. Through their bizarre prism, everything means the opposite.
Lowering taxes and allowing people to keep more of their own money is greedy. Advocating for gun rights against government confiscation is fascistic. Families are oppressive. Aborting babies saves lives.
This is the type of logic free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick applied when he began the anti-American anthem protests.
Kaepernick adopted radical left politics over the past few years, and now believes police officers are the true criminals, and all the victimizers they pursue are the actual victims.
Kaepernick made his views very clear when he wore socks depicting cops as pigs, and made social media posts comparing police officers to runaway slave patrols of the 1800s.
Cruz’s One Sentence Speaks Volumes
The mainstream media and leftists of all stripes praised Kaepernick as a civil rights hero, showering him with various awards and accolades.
The left-wing support for Kaepernick now bleeds into political campaigns. Beto O’Rourke, the Democratic challenger to Ted Cruz’s senate seat in Texas, heaped more praise on Kaepernick and the other protesters.
At a recent town hall, O’Rourke said:
“And so non-violently, peacefully, while the eyes of this country are watching these games, they take a knee to bring our attention and our focus to this problem to ensure that we fix it…That is why they are doing it. And I can think of nothing more American than to peacefully, standing up, or taking a knee, for your rights, anytime, anywhere, in any place.”
Cruz responded sharply:
“When Beto O’Rourke says he can’t think of anything more American [than players taking a knee], well I got to tell you, I can.”
Cruz was right to call out O’Rourke for his disgusting statement. There are many things more American than disrespecting the freest and most prosperous country in the world, such as defending her in combat.
O’Rourke’s statement is a perfect illustration of the topsy-turvy worldview of leftists. Protesting the American flag is somehow the height of Americanism.
People don’t have to denigrate the American flag in order to air grievances.
The great irony of the Kaepernick praise is that he doesn’t love America. All of these leftists portraying him as a patriot have it wrong.
Kaepernick believes America represents white supremacy and its system of governance must be “dismantled.”
The celebration of Kaepernick shows just how quickly liberals moved to the left pole.
Even Barack Obama, arguably the most far-left president in American history, acknowledged that Kaepernick’s protests were hurtful. Back in 2016, he said:
“So I want Mr. Kaepernick and others who are on a knee, I want them to listen to the pain that that may cause somebody who, for example, had a spouse or a child who was killed in combat, and why it hurts them to see somebody not standing.”
In fewer than two years, Democrats moved from a measured tone on protests to outright support for them.
The Texas Project
Through massive illegal immigration and progressive politics in the metropolises, Democrats turned California permanently blue. Democrats in the state assembly and most populous cities enjoy a super majority.
Leftists dream of accomplishing the same feat in Texas. The electoral math would become almost impossible for Republicans without Texas’ 38 electoral votes.
For that reason, liberals from all over the country have taken special interest in the Cruz-O’Rourke senate race.
Hollywood liberals showered O’Rourke with cash and media coverage, but he still trails by roughly six points.
But leftists won’t stop until they force their ideas upon the entire population.
