The Left has gone completely insane over the past few years.
Long-time liberals are turning away in horror at what they’re seeing.
Now one rock legend just called out the destructive thing the Left is doing.
Old-school liberals are leaving the Left in droves.
The latest addition to the list is rock legend Roger Daltrey, frontman for The Who.
He joined Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols, who endorsed Donald Trump for president in 2020, in condemning the insanity of the “woke” left.
During an interview, Daltrey began discussing the problem of online fake news and unleashed on cancel culture and wokeness:
“It’s becoming so absurd now with AI, all the tricks it can do, and the woke generation…It’s terrifying, the miserable world they’re going to create for themselves. I mean, anyone who’s lived a life and you see what they’re doing, you just know that it’s a route to nowhere. Especially when you’ve lived through the periods of a life that we’ve had the privilege to. We’ve had the golden era. There’s no doubt about that.”
One of the driving forces of wokeness is ingratitude.
They see an imperfect world and want to destroy it instead of appreciating how good things are, and how much worse they could be.
Daltrey continued:
“We came out of a war, we came out of a leveled society, completely flattened bomb sites and everything…And we’ve been through socialist governments. We’ve seen the communist system fail in the Soviet Union. I’ve been in those communist countries while they were communist. I’ve seen how ‘wonderful’ — really? — it was.”
Bill Maher recently ripped millennials and the generation after them for being receptive to communism without any grasp of history.
Daltrey is noticing the same phenomenon among indoctrinated youngsters.
He supported Brexit and left the UK Labour Party as a result of Jeremy Corbyn’s extremism, so people all over the west are experiencing this scourge of wokeness.
Glenn Danzig, frontman for the Misfits, echoed the sentiments of Daltrey and Johnny Rotten.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, he said:
“People don’t understand, because everything’s so cancel-culture, woke bullsh*t nowadays, but you could never have the punk explosion nowadays, because of cancel culture and woke bullsh*t. You could never have it…It would never have happened. We’re lucky it happened when it did, because it’ll never happen again. You won’t have any of those kinds of bands ever again. Everyone’s so uptight and P.C., it’s just like, ‘OK, whatever.’”
These rock icons have realized that far-left “woke” culture is the true threat to liberty and free speech.
They built their careers off those tenets, and they’re being eroded by a Left that’s becoming increasingly radical.
More celebrities are going against the grain and speaking out on cancel culture.
Wokeness is wildly unpopular, but too few people are willing to push back against it.
