The Democrats and their media allies are out for Ron DeSantis’ blood.
They try to turn everything he does into a scandal.
And one liberal comic called out Democrats for their bizarre attack on DeSantis.
Comedian Bill Maher is close to being excommunicated from the Church of the Left.
The lifelong liberal host of Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO has raised eyebrows among leftists for his refusal to go along with every single bit of leftist dogma.
Recently, Maher pushed back against Democrats’ demonization of Florida’s Parental Rights in Education bill that Governor Ron DeSantis intends to sign.
The bill prohibits public schools from participating in classroom discussions on sexual orientation and gender identity in grades K-3, and requires schools to notify parents if their kids are assuming a different gender identity at school.
Liberals predictably shrieked and called it the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, even though the word “gay” does not appear anywhere in the ball and does not preclude teachers from having individual discussions with children.
During a recent episode of his show, Maher pushed back against leftist New York Times columnist Frank Bruni regarding the bill.
Maher said:
“So we’re talking about very young kids who, you know, as always with this stuff, you know this. It’s not like there’s no kernel of truth in that maybe kids that young shouldn’t be thinking about sex at all…I don’t think it’s specific. It’s not like you’re not allowed to literally not say ‘gay.’ They just don’t want teachers talking about it; they think it’s the province of parents.”
That is a completely reasonable opinion, but liberals have turned the bill into some insane attack on gay and transgender children.
Liberals in entertainment banded together and put pressure on Disney to take action against DeSantis.
California governor Gavin Newsom even tried to lure Disney jobs back into his state.
Disney, the door is open to bring those jobs back to California – the state that actually represents the values of your workers. https://t.co/kbCi7Zgs90

But thus far, DeSantis has stood tall against the leftist backlash.
DeSantis said in a recent appearance:
“[T]he chance that I am going to back down from my commitment to students and back down from my commitment to parents’ rights simply because of fraudulent media narratives or pressure from woke corporations, the chances of that are zero.”
Maher also recently questioned the narrative that Vladimir Putin didn’t invade during Donald Trump’s presidency because he was doing Putin’s bidding and there was no need.
Maher is capturing the sentiment of a lot of liberals who are looking around and finding too much insanity on his side of the aisle.
