Roseanne is gone.
The hit show on ABC had a short run because ABC had a knee-jerk reaction when they pulled the plug. This was due to Roseanne Barr’s late-night tweet.
And her co-star, John Goodman, had one word to say about her and the cancellation that will shock you.
Roseanne Barr claimed she was on Ambien when she sent a tweet that Valerie Jarrett – a former President Obama senior advisor – was a “monkey.”
ABC quickly canceled Barr’s show because of the liberal backlash.
Leftists brought out the pitchforks and Hollywood responded. It’s really that simple.
But in a recent interview with The Sunday Times, Goodman spoke from the heart when it came to his longtime friend.
He had one word to say about the response. Goodman was “surprised.”
Goodman was “surprised.”
The legendary actor said, “I was surprised. I’ll put it this way, I was surprised at the response… and that’s probably all I should say about it.”
Goodman was on Roseanne’s original run where he played Dan Conner, Roseanne’s husband.
It’s safe to say that nobody knows Barr on a professional level better than Goodman.
What happened to Barr was a shame.
Hollywood unfairly treated the conservative star as if she was a murderer.
How many Hollywood liberals commit crimes or say heinous things?
The answer to that is a lot of them. What happens to them?
They usually get a slap on the wrist and then escorted onto lot as if nothing happened.
That’s not what happened to Barr.
Goodman continued, “I was brokenhearted, but I thought, ‘OK, it’s just show business, I’m going to let it go. But I went through a period, about a month, where I was very depressed. I’m a depressive anyway, so any excuse that I can get to lower myself, I will. But that had a great deal to do with it, more than I wanted to admit.”
Goodman continued, “I was brokenhearted…”
Goodman will star in the upcoming spinoff of Barr’s creation called, The Conners.
Apparently, Barr’s character will be killed off.
Don’t expect there to be an emotional farewell of her character because that would send the wrong message. You can probably assume that the death of her character will be quick and to the point.
That’s disgusting because Barr created the show and now her creation will be stripped from her, killed off, and will continue like she was never involved in the first place.
Barr was forced to sign a paper that relinquished all rights of the show back to the network.
However, nobody knows Barr better than her longtime co-star.
Goodman admitted, “I know, I know, for a fact that she’s not a racist.”
That will probably come as a bit of a surprise to liberals.
Nobody screams “racist” quite like leftists.
Barr even responded to Goodman and said, “I thank John Goodman for speaking truth about me, despite facing certain peril from producers and network.”
That’s true co-appreciation.
But Goodman’s career will go on. Barr’s probably won’t.
The good news is that Barr has been offered a lot of work since the cancellation. https://offthewire.com/roseanne-could-be-planning-this-move-that-could-shock-hollywood/
There are many networks that would die for Roseanne’s ratings.
It was the biggest hit on primetime television.
We shall see if the comedic genius attempts to make a comeback.
