Many celebrities clearly suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome – a condition defined by President Trump’s actions having a long-lasting psychological effect on liberals where they still can’t cope with him being the leader of the free world.
Former pop star Cher is one of those Hollywood elitists who is relentless about her criticism towards Trump.
But in a shocking move, Cher just blasted Democratic darling Sen. Bernie Sanders for his insane philosophy on voting rights.
Nothing is more insulting than Hollywood celebrities living in their bubble free of working class problems trying to dictate the way people should vote.
They all do it and they will shame anybody who has opposing philosophies to their political point of view.
Some of the smart celebrities who have budding careers are smart enough to stay out of offering their thoughts on the political arena but those that are retired or have no career left to offer, are shameless about doing that.
That’s why it was shocking to see the Academy and Grammy Award-winning actress/singer blast one of her own.
Sen. Bernie Sanders appeared on a CNN “Townhall” event on Monday night that also featured Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, and Sen. Kamala Harris.
One incredibly controversial question was proposed to all of them, which was about whether not only should convicted felons have the right to vote, but should even the worst of the worst incarcerated felons be able to vote?
When asked whether the Boston Marathon bomber or anybody convicted of sexual assault’s right to vote, Sanders made the argument, “Yes, even for terrible people, because once you start chipping away and you say, ‘Well, that guy committed a terrible crime, not going to let him vote. Well, that person did that. Not going to let that person vote,’ you’re running down a slippery slope.”
You can see why that’s controversial.
But Cher blasted his philosophy on Twitter with, “Does Bernie Sanders Really Believe PplIn Prison Who Are Murderers!? Rapists!? Child Molesters!? BOSTON BOMBERS….STILL DESERVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE!?”
And she’s right? Do we really need to have this conversation? We’re talking about people who intentionally and knowingly gave up their freedoms to harm and/or murder people and we’re supposed to be okay with them having a say in anything to do with America?
That’s absurd.
Sen. Kamala Harris pivoted when asked the question with, “I think we should have the conversation.”
Although, Mayor Pete Buttigieg bluntly said, “While still incarcerated?” and moderator Anderson Cooper confirmed his assumption. To which Buttigieg responded, “No. Not while still incarcerated.”
Cher has been defiant on a lot of things recently too.
When Trump recommended sending all illegal immigrants to sanctuary cities – Cher responded knowing full well that her current residence of Los Angeles couldn’t handle that with, “I Understand Helping struggling Immigrants, but MY CITY (Los Angeles) ISNT TAKING CARE OF ITS OWN.WHAT ABOUT THE 50,000+ [American’ Citizens WHO LIVE ON THE STREETS. PPL WHO LIVE BELOW POVERTY LINE,& HUNGRY? If My State Can’t Take Care of Its Own(Many Are VETS)How Can it Take Care Of More.”
And President Trump agreed with that sentiment.
Sen. Sanders is a self-proclaimed Democratic socialist so it’s no surprise he would have that extremist point of view on voting rights, but as they say, if you do the crime then you pay the price – and that comes with consequences about your American rights.
