It’s hard to imagine anybody having a problem with Tim Tebow for any reason whatsoever.
The former Florida Gator quarterback is a devout Christian and has nothing but love to offer the world.
But that doesn’t change the fact that Sports media and other athletes are furious with Tim Tebow for delivering his opinion on allowing student athletes to make money on their likeness.
California just pulled a shocking move on the NCAA.
California passed a new bill unanimously allowing student athletes to profit from their name, image and likeness. The university or college is not required to pay them but they are allowed to profit off their name through sponsorship or whatever clever ways they can market themselves to the public.
The bad news for California is that the NCAA is threatening to pull out of California altogether, which means all 58 colleges and universities would be on their own and means they would not be allowed to compete with other schools around the country.
That means the Pac-12 will likely be dismembered and California teams will likely play each other and obviously not be involved in the championship circuits across all NCAA athletics.
Of course, Governor Gavin Newsom has to sign off before it becomes law.
Enter Tim Tebow who fervently disagrees with California’s decision and spoke of his own personal experience while he was at the University of Florida.
Tebow was on ESPN’s “First Take” on Friday and spoke candidly about how he felt about the situation.

But of course Tebow was blasted.
Some were nice about it like Jay Bilas and Mina Kimes.
Great perspective. That Tim Tebow wishes to turn down compensation doesn’t mean all should be required to. He is free to play for free. All athletes should have the same economic rights as LITERALLY everyone else. That’s real choice. https://t.co/arHsw4YRuP

I appreciate Tebow drawing on his own experience here. But he’s making an anti-individualist argument while using his own, individual story to disregard the needs of others. https://t.co/JmDoDr4hrd

Others were disingenuous or flat-out insulting like ESPN’s Geoff Schwartz (who also played) and Bomani Jones of “High Noon” (who did not play).
No athlete has ever taken money to attend a school so this argument makes total sense … 🤮 https://t.co/4ZI6izrVqg

This “woke” culture is so obnoxious.
What exactly did he say that was so offensive?
They’re acting like he should apologize for having this point of view. And many people really don’t realize how fortunate highly recruited athletes are. The university takes as much of a gamble on them as they do on the university. That’s how it works.
