Hollywood elites have somehow become more unbearable over the years.
Their sermonizing during awards show speeches was annoying enough, but social media has allowed them to go international instantly.
Now a “woke” actress filmed one cringeworthy video message to Vladimir Putin.
The narcissism of entertainment elites is truly breathtaking to witness.
At the outset of the COVID lockdowns, Hollywood actors put together an embarrassing video singing John Lennon’s communist fever dream “Imagine” over Zoom.
It was so bad, Kristen Wiig and some other participants even apologized for putting it out.
But one celebrity might have topped that dreadful performance.
Actress AnnaLynne McCord, who co-starred in the 90210 remake, recorded a poem to Russian president Vladimir Putin after he invaded Ukraine and advanced to the capital city of Kyiv.
McCord wished that she had been Putin’s mother so he wouldn’t have grown up to become a war-mongering dictator:
“If I was your mother, you would’ve been so loved.
Held in the arms of joyous lights,
Never would this story’s plight
The world unfurled before our eyes
A pure demise
Of a nation sitting peaceful under a night sky.
If I was your mother the world would’ve been warm
So much laughter and joy
Nothing would harm
I can’t imagine the stain
The soul-stealing pain
That the little boy you must’ve seen and believed
And the formulation of thought, quickly taught,
That you live in a cruel, unjust world.”

McCord’s video was severely ratioed, meaning it received more replies than likes plus retweets combined.
She accomplished the impressive feat of uniting the progressive left, conservative right, and moderate center in mockery of her video.
Aside from the cringy elements of the poem, it’s ironic because McCord is not a mother herself.
McCord also revealed last year that she was diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder, so there’s a chance she could have made Putin even worse.
Her video illustrated the entire ethos of the “woke” Left.
They believe they can “fix” everyone with progressive platitudes, but they reject realities about human nature.
They also don’t understand that the entire world does not operate under a privileged American point of view.
McCord is defending her video, which proves she’s truly out of touch.
Celebrities would probably do well to sit out the absurd commentary on the war in Ukraine until all of the facts come out.
Now is not the team for slam poetry and John Lennon songs and other self-serving gestures.
If celebrities want to help, they can donate money to humanitarian efforts around the war.
That would be more useful than bad poetry as tanks roll through Ukraine.
