Hollywood elites have become increasingly detached from the rest of America.
Nothing exemplifies that more than the self-congratulatory nature of awards shows.
But Will Smith did something at the Oscars that left everyone speechless.
Hollywood megastar actor Will Smith has amassed a net worth that reportedly exceeds $250 million.
And he finally took home the elusive Best Actor award at the 2022 Oscars for his portrayal of Richard Williams, father of tennis greats Venus and Serena Williams, in the film King Richard.
But Smith’s victory was not even close to the most memorable thing he did at the Academy Awards.
During a segment where comedian Chris Rock was presenting the award for Best Documentary, the comic legend poked fun at members of the crowd, which is standard at such events.
Rock cracked a joke about actress Jada Pinkett Smith—Will’s wife—having a bald head, which he may or may not have known was caused by her having alopecia.
Will Smith seemingly took the joke in stride and laughed, but everything changed when he realized that his wife was not amused.
That’s when Smith jumped from his seat and slapped Rock across the face on live television in front of millions of worldwide viewers.
The jaw-dropping incident sent shockwaves throughout the entire culture.
Both liberals and conservatives were divided amongst themselves on the issue.
Far-left Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, who also suffers from alopecia, praised Smith’s disgusting actions on Twitter before deleting the message.
Pressley wrote, “Alopecia nation stand up! Thank you Will Smith. Shout out to all the husbands who defend their wives living with alopecia in the face of daily ignorance and insults…Women with baldies are for real men only…Boys need not apply.”
Ayanna Pressley deleted this tweet, but not before @carolineframke saw it. #Oscars #WillSmith #ChrisRock #HolyShit pic.twitter.com/jm579AZi2G

Fellow far-left Congressman Jamaal Bowman also cheered on Smith’s actions.
Bowman tweeted—and soon deleted—the following message: “Teachable moment: don’t joke about a black woman’s hair.”

Surprisingly, Nikole Hannah-Jones, radical-left author of the bogus 1619 Project was horrified by Smith’s actions and was stunned that he was allowed to remain in the audience after committing assault.
Perhaps the most bizarre moment occurred when Smith won the Oscar for Best Actor half an hour after the incident, and gave an awkward speech where he apologized to the Academy, but not Rock.
He even got a standing ovation from the audience.
The one positive about Smith’s “slap heard around the world” is that it distracted from the obnoxious political virtue-signaling that took place earlier in the presentation.
