Far-left host Joy Reid has proven to be incredibly dishonest.
The MSNBC host got caught lying about making homophobic posts on her old blog.
But another comment she made on her blog might infuriate liberals past the point of no return.
In response to the discovered posts, Reid issued a mealy-mouthed apology where she didn’t take any responsibility and instead opted to say she didn’t “believe” she made the posts.
Reid has been given a pass, for now. But Reid committed a cardinal sin that could get her excommunicated from the church of leftism: she also praised Donald Trump on previous posts.
During Trump’s very public feud with Rosie O’Donnell, Reid took Trump’s side and fat-shamed O’Donnell in the process, adding to her heresy.
From The Daily Wire:
As the claims of Joy Reid and her legal team that the “homophobic, transphobic, sexist and bigoted” posts on her blog were supposedly “fabricated” by hackers appear to be crumbling, more unfortunate social media and blog posts by Reid have come to light.
While leftwing MSNBC and the Left in general has largely stood by her despite the evidence of her homotransphobicsexism, the Free Beacon’s Alex Griswold found one blog post that might finally inspire the Left to disown Reid. In a 2007 post, Reid (or if you believe her, hackers that were trying to ruin her career before anyone knew who she was) posted a fat-shaming attack on “chubbed-out shrew” Rosie O’Donnell, in which she declared that she fully sided with Rosie’s nemesis, “kick-ass funny” Donald Trump.
Here’s an excerpt of Reid’s January 9, 2007 post…from the Library of Congress:
“How much longer until that chubbed-out shrew Rosie O’Donnell gets her fat ass canned by Babwa [Barbara Walters]? How much longer will the freak show that is ‘The View’ continue to darken our television screens? How much more kick-ass funny can Donald Trump be???
Just When you thought it was safe to open Page Six, we get the news that Rosie O blew up at Babs in the ABC dressing room, calling her a “f**king liar” and insisting that Walters has been pushing the Trump-Rosie fued [sic] for media buzz. Barbara has publicly denied taking sides in the fued [sic] (unlike myself … I’m for square for The Donald on this one…) but Trump continues to insist that she is anything but neutral, even sending her a letter detailing what he says, she says, about Rosie. …”
“The Library of Congress archived Reid’s now-defunct blog post on January 14th, 2007 at 06:52 AM ET,” Griswold notes. “If Reid’s website was indeed hacked as she now claims, the hacker would’ve had to target her site over a decade ago.”
Though MSNBC has stood by Reid so far, the Daily Beast has apparently seen enough, announcing Wednesday that it has suspended her column amid the “serious” accusations about her blog posts.
Reid and MSNBC have appeared to circle the wagons, but public pressure has not let up, as several journalists are picking up the slack where their colleagues have been derelict:
David Shuster on Twitter
According to former colleagues, @MSNBC @NBCNews management “certain” @joyannreid lied about being hacked, but decided not to fire her, in part, given B.Williams history + ongoing role. Truth and integrity still matter to a few at the org, though they feel like a dying breed.
Bari Weiss on Twitter
Alarmed by the response to Joy Ann Reid’s apology by people in the press who are–rightly–obsessed with The Truth. Of course she should be forgiven for her past statements. But she lied. And now makes the baffling claim that she “doesn’t believe” she wrote them. Huh?
Glenn Greenwald on Twitter
Many journalists united this week – closed ranks – to proclaim that they don’t care if a journalist blatantly lies to the public – fabricates – as long as that journalist has the right partisan affiliation and ideology, or has enough journalist friends. Everyone saw this: https://t.co/9eyMepT6ww
If more incendiary posts from Reid’s pass resurface, using the “I was hacked” or “I don’t recall” excuses may not be able to save her tenuous career.
