Dana White has built the UFC into a sports powerhouse.
He’s made a lot of connections along the way.
And the UFC boss revealed something stunning about Tom Brady.
Dana White is no stranger to controversy.
He received backlash for supporting Donald Trump, and keeping the UFC going during COVID.
White turned out to be right about being able to safely promote fights at the height of the pandemic, much to the dismay of liberal journalists.
White raised eyebrows again when he recounted a story that Tom Brady almost went to the Las Vegas Raiders after leaving the New England Patriots at the conclusion of the 2019-20 season.
According to White, he brokered a deal for Brady and tight end Rob Gronkowski to go to the Raiders, but head coach Jon Gruden pulled the plug on the deal.
White said, “It was almost a done deal, and at the last minute, Gruden blew the deal up and said that he didn’t want them. All hell broke loose then…Las Vegas would have Brady and Gronk the year the Bucs won the Super Bowl, but Gruden blew the deal up.”

The bombshell from White has caused people to speculate that Brady was talking about Raiders quarterback Derek Carr during a conversation on LeBron James’s show The Shop.
Brady said, “There was a story in free agency—and one of the teams, they were interested…And all of a sudden they weren’t interested in the very end. I was sitting there thinking, ‘You’re sticking with that motherf*cker? Are you serious?’ … Looking back, I’m thinking ‘There’s no f*cking way I would’ve gone to that team. They said they didn’t want me! I know what that means! I know what that feels like! And I’m going to f*ck you up because of that.”
Raiders owner Mark Davis issued a soft denial, saying, “That was, what, two to three years ago or something? I don’t know, man. Talk to Dana. I remember that Tom Brady went to Tampa Bay. That’s basically what I remember. I have no idea. Dana has the stories. I love Dana. He is a great, great promoter.”
However, others claim that Davis was definitely in the loop.
From Pro Football Talk:
“A source with knowledge of the situation has offered to refresh the memory of Mark Davis. Per the source, Davis knew exactly what was happening. White brokered the deal with both sides — Brady and the Raiders. Davis, per the source, wanted it to happen, at least as it related to Brady. (And, presumably, as to Gronk.) But, as White said, coach Jon Gruden decided at the last minute to kill the deal. And Brady was ready to go. He was, per the source, going to do it. But for Gruden bowing out, Brady would have been a Raider. White acted as the intermediary, the source explained. Similar to the manner in which Bruce Beal served as the one who was trying to get Brady to Miami to play for Stephen Ross, White served as the man who was trying to get Brady to Las Vegas to play for Mark Davis.”
The Raiders were that close to landing Brady.
Instead, Brady went to the Buccaneers and won his seventh Super Bowl.
The Raiders have not won a Super Bowl since 1983-84.
