Entertainment celebrities often march in lockstep when it comes to politics.
They dutifully parrot the talking points of the liberal establishment.
But two rock legends are at war for one jaw-dropping reason.
COVID-19 policies have essentially fractured the West into two-tiered societies.
Those who follow the strictures of the establishment—or at least profess to doing so—are deemed to be on the “right side of history.”
Celebrities have largely echoed the edicts from the establishment with regard to COVID, but now two rock legends are at loggerheads.
Eric Clapton has been a strong voice against COVID lockdowns, and he recently announced that he won’t play at any venue that mandates a vaccine.
Clapton’s decision was at least in part informed by a bad reaction to both doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
But Queen guitarist Brian May does not see eye to eye with Clapton at all.
He needled Clapton over his vaccine stance and also took aim at “anti-vaxxers.”
From The Independent:
“May shakes his head at the mention of Ian Brown [of The Stone Roses] and Eric Clapton refusing to play shows with Covid restrictions and questioning the safety of the vaccines. ‘I love Eric Clapton, he’s my hero, but he has very different views from me in many ways. He’s a person who thinks it’s OK to shoot animals for fun, so we have our disagreements, but I would never stop respecting the man.’”
Clapton and fellow rock legend Van Morrison have collaborated to raise money for artists devastated by the COVID lockdowns.
Clapton is currently fighting against the nonstop insistence that everyone must get vaccinated, no matter his or her individual circumstances.
May continued:
“Anti-vax people, I’m sorry, I think they’re fruitcakes. There’s plenty of evidence to show that vaccination helps. On the whole they’ve been very safe. There’s always going to be some side effect in any drug you take, but to go around saying vaccines are a plot to kill you, I’m sorry, that goes in the fruitcake jar for me.”
The establishment line on COVID keeps changing.
Politicians and public health officials are telling people that vaccinated individuals can spread COVID equivalent to unvaccinated individuals.
That torpedoes the narrative that the unvaccinated are causing COVID surges.
Many well credentialed doctors have pointed out the nonsensical approach to combating COVID, namely pretending as if zero COVID cases is some sort of possibility.
In all likelihood, COVID is going to be a seasonal virus like the flu.
The coronavirus is now being used as a means to control mass populations.
In America, Democrats are eager to perpetuate the pandemic so they can implement their wishlist of restrictions and policy goals.
Joe Biden and other officials are using COVID as a pretense to expand powers.
For example, the CDC recently extended eviction moratoria despite not having the jurisdiction.
Biden essentially admitted to a strategy of do now, litigate later.
The chasm between Clapton and May illustrates the divide in society that’s being driven and exacerbated by establishment elites.
