The anti-American anthem protests continue to be a problem for the NFL.
The number of protests is down, but the displays are not good for a league that wants to move on.
But two protesters did something so embarrassing, it left the NFL speechless.
The Ring Leader
Colin Kaepernick started the NFL’s worst controversy when he refused to stand for Star-Spangled Banner in 2016.
Since then, the problem festered.
Protests broke out across the league.
The fan backlash was severe.
Stadium attendance dropped, viewership declined, and ad revenue shrank.
Meanwhile, leftist groups and the mainstream media portrayed Kaepernick as a hero.
They tried to turn him into the civil rights leader of our time.
He graced the cover of several magazines and received many awards for his “bravery.”
Kaepernick even received a lucrative advertising deal from Nike.
All of this for his “sacrifice” of being a bad quarterback who washed out of the league.
One of his partners in crime was Carolina Panthers safety Eric Reid.
Reid was the first player to kneel alongside Kaepernick.
After not receiving a contract from the San Francisco 49ers, Reid became a free agent.
Sooner after hitting the market, Reid panicked and blamed his protest stance for why he didn’t get a contract.
But the Panthers eventually offered Reid a deal after an injury to one of their starters.
Fight in Philadelphia
Reid recently faced off against Philadelphia Eagle and fellow anthem protester Malcolm Jenkins.
Jenkins led the players’ coalition in talks with the NFL over kneeling and activist causes.
Reid felt betrayed by Jenkins because he said Jenkins left him and Kaepernick out of the coalition negotiations.
Jenkins claims he made overtures to Reid and Kaepernick, but they did not respond.
This caused Reid to call Jenkins a liar.
So when they finally met on the field, it got ugly.
During the coin toss, Jenkins and Reid swaggered toward each other near midfield and almost got into a fist fight.
They had to be restrained.
Reid and the Panthers pulled off a surprising 21-17 road comeback after trailing 17-0 in the 4th quarter.
But after the game, Reid was not in a good mood.
He sounded off against Jenkins in a shocking manner:

Reid’s rhetoric is absurd.
He’s clearly repeating the talking points given to him by his radical left handlers.
Calling a fellow anthem protester who helped secure $89 million from the owners for social causes a “neo-colonialist” is entering crazy-town.
This goes to show how the far left goes off the deep end.
Using Sports to Divide
Reid and Kaepernick are now mouthpieces for the far left.
This group of radicals wants to turn everything into a political battle.
They can’t bring the country to the point of revolution without doing so.
Sports used to be one of the last segments of American life free from politics.
But the left is trying hard to ruin that.
Texas congressman Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke recently said there’s nothing more patriotic than protesting the flag.
His statement was asinine.
And Beto now appears to be under water in his Senate race against incumbent Ted Cruz.
These statements are par for the course now.
Politics bleed in sports, and sports bleed into politics.
Reid even sounded off against the nomination of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
None of this is good for the country.
People need areas where they can come together without squabbling over politics.
But the left ruins everything.
