President Donald Trump attended Daytona 500 earlier this month and it was truly a smashing success. Trump even brought out “The Beast” – the president’s limousine to lead a lap around the racetrack.
Daytona officials even named Trump the grand marshal for NASCAR’s season opener, meaning he will deliver the most famous four words in auto racing. “Gentleman, start your engines.”
But Trump prayed for this NASCAR driver and he just got some great news.
Trump’s attendance at the Daytona 500 this year was one of the best moments in sports so far this year.
The crowds went wild over his presence and NASCAR drivers were eternally grateful for being so gracious and humble to them.
Driver Clint Bowyer tweeted his respect to him by saying, “Not going to lie, I had no idea what to expect. The man walked in shook all our hands, took selfies, and whatever we asked of him. I judge people on how they treat me and others I’m with, and that’s why I really appreciated meeting [Trump].”
One of the more famous drivers, Kurt Busch, tweeted, “Plain and Simple, [Trump] is a man of the people.”
But while it was an absolutely electric environment at Daytona, the car crash of driver Ryan Newman was truly horrific. Looking at the wreck, you’d likely think to yourself there’s no way that anyone would survive that car crash.
And it happened during the final lap. Here’s the video:

Newman was leading Monday’s race when he was bumped into the wall by Ryan Blaney.
Corey LaJoie, who was reportedly blinded by smoke, then slammed into Newman’s car at full speed, sending the Ford over the finish line while on its roof.
Emergency crews rushed to Newman’s car and he was taken to Halifax Medical Center by ambulance. Nascar’s statement said that he was “in serious condition, but doctors have indicated his injuries are not life threatening.”
Last Wednesday, less than 72-hours after suffering the serious injuries, Newman was released from the hospital.

Prayer is a powerful force and it looks like God intervened on his life, which is something we take for granted sometimes. God intervenes in our lives all the time when we have no idea.
NASCAR racing is one of the most violent sports in the world for obvious reasons. And when these wrecks occur, especially when it’s the last lap, it really puts things into perspective about how fragile and short life can be.
Denny Hamlin ended up making history by winning the Daytona 500 for the second year in a row.
