Hollywood genuinely believes they can get away with anything.
From way up high on the industry’s moral pedestal they preach to working-class Americans and it’s sad to think it actually works on many. But the rest of us see right through Hollywood’s hypocrisy.
President Trump saw right through it and single-handedly buried this upcoming Hollywood movie.
It’s rare when Hollywood decides to shelve a movie because they pour millions into a production and they need some recoupment.
One of the classic examples of this was Seth Rogen and James Franco’s controversial movie “The Interview” – about a tabloid television host and his producer that land an interview with Supreme Leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un, who happens to be a big fan of the show. And the CIA enlists the pair to assassinate him during their trip.
Once Jong Un got wind of the plot to “The Interview,” Sony pulled it from theaters due to a stern warning from the Supreme Leader that there would be “consequences” if they released it. The movie never made it to theaters but Netflix paid through the nose to put it on the streaming platform.
Another controversial movie that had plans to come out was “The Hunt.”
The plot is a retelling of Richard Connell’s 1924 short story “The Most Dangerous Game” about a big-game hunter from New York City who has the rug pulled out from underneath of him when he falls off a yacht and swims ashore to what he believes to be an abandoned and isolated island in the Caribbean. But it turns out the hunter becomes the hunted when a Russian aristocrat tries to kill him for sport.
But in “The Hunt,” a bunch of wealthy thrill-seeking liberals hunt a dozen MAGA-like deplorables – the term then-Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton used on the 2016 campaign trail about President Trump supporters.
The movie was blasted by many, not only because of its depiction of “deplorables” but also because it comes right after the tragic mass shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio.
But when Trump got wind of the new movie, he tweeted about it.
He wrote, “Liberal Hollywood is Racist at the highest level, and with great Anger and Hate! They like to call themselves “Elite,” but they are not Elite. In fact, it is often the people that they so strongly oppose that are actually the Elite. The movie coming out is made in order….
He continued, “….to inflame and cause chaos. They create their own violence, and then try to blame others. They are the true Racists, and are very bad for our Country!”

Hours later, Universal Pictures and Blumhouse decided to can the September 27th release date of the film. Universal is the distributor and Blumhouse (“Get Out” and “Whiplash”) is the production company.
A Universal spokesperson said in a statement, “While Universal Pictures had already paused the marketing campaign for The Hunt, after thoughtful consideration, the studio has decided to cancel our plans to release the film. We stand by our filmmakers and will continue to distribute films in partnership with bold and visionary creators, like those associated with this satirical social thriller, but we understand that now is not the right time to release this film.”
It’s no secret as to why they canceled the movie that has guns blazing – something nearly every Hollywood elitist has a problem with considering they want to reform the Second Amendment after every mass shooting.
