Democrats and their media allies thought they vanquished Donald Trump.
But his appearance at CPAC proved he has the potential to be a kingmaker within the Republican Party.
Now Trump endorsed one NFL great for Congress and Democrats are in panic mode.
The Democrats won both Georgia runoff Senate elections amid voter irregularities and depressed Republican turnout, but one of those seats could be back in play for the GOP sooner than expected.
During a statement, Donald Trump endorsed College Football Hall of Fame running back Herschel Walker for a Georgia Senate seat.
Trump described Walker as “legendary” in the state of Georgia where he won the Heisman Trophy in 1982, and led the Georgia Bulldogs to their last national championship in 1982.
Trump said that Walker would be “unstoppable” in a run against incumbent Raphael Warnock and added the encouragement, “Run Herschel, run!”
Trump’s assessment of Walker’s odds isn’t just conjecture.
According to the Trafalgar Group, one of the fews pollsters whose predictions were close to the final results, said that Walker matches up favorably with Warnock.

Warnock was mired in controversy during his election and he won by the tightest of margins, so a beloved figure like Walker would have a legitimate chance to take him out if he were inclined to run.
Walker became persona non grata among the Democrats for supporting Trump, speaking at the Republican National Convention, and criticizing Joe Biden and Democrat policies.
The early weeks of the Biden administration have been a disaster, and even Democrat voters who helped flip Georgia blue are not happy.
In a turnout election, Walker could pose as a formidable opponent for Warnock, and he has the support of Trump behind him.
